Central Ohio has not had much luck either. I am halfway between Columbus and Cleveland. Our house only was without power for 5 hours, however, both of our daughters (which live only 10 minutes from us) were without power for 4 days. And YES, the house gets real cold very fast this time of year. Both of the girls say that they would NEVER make it as our neighbors do.....AMISH! They were able to come to our house everyday and bath and load up on some water to at least be able to flush their toilets. The girls both agree that they can do without lights, but being without water is a whole other story. (Especially when you are a clean freak!) LOL Our poor towering oak trees limbs were touching the ground with about a half inch of ice.
We are hoping for NO MORE ice this year. The tree damage has been horrendous and the flooding close by has been bad. But when you watch the news you just count your BLESSINGS and try to think about those that are so much worse off than we are. The Tsunami puts everything into perspective!!!!!!!
Everyone take care and stay safe this winter season.
Love ya,
Deb
