To update you, I got my neurologist appointment just before Christmas. after 1.5 hrs diagnosis is postural vertigo overlaid with stress but MRI scan ordered to exclude any nasties in brain.  MRI was yesterday - what a racket that machine makes LOL. 

See my surgeon at the end of the month for the next 6 mth followup -  I may have a tamoxifen "holiday" to see if that is making the dizzy feeling worse.  So hopefully by the end of the month I will have all the results back and can sort out what I am doing (or not doing!)

I actually think that my body is telling me to stop working - however, I am subborn and don't like giving in - to ANYTHING!

It sure is a roller coaster ride this C journey.  You are all so right when you say that it doesn't entirely leave you - one always wonders what is going on inside you that you can't see.

Kath I am so sorry you are having troubles. I have missed you here, but didn't realize what you were going through. You know not working is not all that bad. I had to go on disability five years ago. Fortunately I had wonderful insurance at work and have gotten 65% of my salary minus what my Social Security pay is. That ends next month, and my income will drop drastically but I am thankful for the five years of insurance. Meanwhile I have had time to do what I want pretty much when I want. I have not missed working at all. At first I had lunch with the girls about once a month, then gradually it decreased until now I see them maybe four times a year. I have not even set foot in the office for two years, altho I still ask about everyone and communicate with several. There is life after work. LOL Don't look at it as giving in, look at it as getting a wonderful present. We are here ready to help by sending hugs across the seas. Hope you are enjoying summer. Love MK

Kath,

It's SO nice to hear from you. I'm sorry that you're having problems again. I think my tamoxifen is making my hips sore. I've never had so many problems with them. Hope they isolate the problems with dizziness and that it's something easily fixed. Hope you're enjoying your summer a lot more than I'm enjoying this winter!!!

Kath, Like everyone else I had no idea you were having these problems. You should be enjoying the summer weather and instead you have to climb in the old hammer and bang machine. Please keep us informed. Let us know if you need PCE. You know we can be there in a New York Minute.

I think the PCE should make a trip by Kathy anyway, just as a support measure. We should pick a time of day and bombard her with prayers.

 

As far as working goes, on Jan 19, it will be 9 years since I've worked. I tried to fight the disability but there was really no question about it. You shouldn't feel bad if you cannot continue to work. For a lot of us, this disease leaves some permanent reminders far beyond just scars.

 

We'll be waiting for your test results.

Thanks so much for all your support - its really appreciated.
BTW we are having the strangest summer - violent rainstorms twice in a week causing quite major flooding. However, it hasn't affected us personally.
Load up the PCE Joyce - pink boas & all! just remember i'm ahead of you lots timewise LOL

Kath, The wonderful thing about PCE is it adjust to everything automatically. Except to hear some tell it my landings. We just pile in and show up right on time. When you need us we will be there. L&H Joyce
