is in her final stage.  It is so very hard.  She has fought long and bravely.  Her oncologist just called and she woke enough to talk to him and even called him by name. Now this is the kind of oncologist everyone should have.  He has called every day this week to talk to her, but she has been asleep.   He is retiring at the end of this year.  When is the cure coming?

This is heartbreaking news, MK. I am so sorry for all the pain this disease has caused you, Carolyn and her family, and all men & women everywhere. I will keep you all in my prayers!

MK, how I hated to read this. It is YOU that we are offering the hugs and prayers to, and easy to see where Carolyn gets her strength from....she lived her life like a hero up until the end, and she will always be remembered for her determination and independence....it sounded like she did not give one extra minute to this disease than she had to. And what an amazing year of ups and downs you've had with babies, weddings and unfortunately illness and passing of loved ones...what a life cycle. I am just sorry you have had so much sadness this year. Shades of Juliejar...and just so unfair. You are in my thoughts more than you know.

MK I am so very sorry to hear Carolyn is in her final stage. I wish I was there to give you a (((((((big hug))))))). It has certainly been a rough year for you. You are in my heart and prayers, all of you.

This is just so darned unfair. You have been through so much, MK, and my tears are with you. Carolyn's life should be an inspiration to all who are fighting this disease. She fought long and hard and had you by her side throughout it all, even though she refused to be a clinger. God be with you and all her family. I will see you soon.

Thanks to all of you for your kindness and love. And yes, Debbi, she did do it HER way. Her oncologist called Michael and said she had to have set a world's record for surviving mets to bone marrow. He said three and a half years ago he really thought she had only three months. She worked up until six weeks ago, only allowed someone to drive her the last three weeks and even then did a few short trips on her own. Less than a week before she died she went to the feed store to get horse cubes!! She loved her horses. She loved all animals. She was generous and thoughtful. It was a great loss to everyone, but so far it seems like Michael and the kids are doing ok. Life goes on with one more special angel in the heavens. Love and hugs to all of you. MK

MK: Your daughter was a remarkable woman. I was always so amazed when I would read your posts and hear that she was driving herself to the dr and working. I could feel your frustration but also your pride. I do believe that she had a great deal of her mother in her. :) She was an inspiration to not only those that loved and knew her but to those of us that knew her thru you.

Please take care of yourself.

Thanks for sharing your daughter and her brave fight with us.

Mk. I am so sorry to read this. I do not come here as often as I should and I do not know what to say. Please know Vic and I are thinking of you and your family, and including all of you in our prayers. I have to say, I really admired your daughter. No one should have to put their children to rest, but if ever there was a person that lived everyday and gave this rotten disease the good fight it was her and her ability to keep putting one foot in front of the other becoming my poster woman for how to deal with this rotten disease.
