Sorry I can't really help you with the treatment part of it. I take prevacid and have great results. Are you taking Rx kind or over the counter kind? Maybe you need to coat your stomach? Pepto Bismal? Just a suggestion. Someone else will have some real knowledge. Hugs MK

Prilosec is my choice. I've had acid reflux since chemo ten years ago. The new Pepcid AC does a pretty good job, too, when they run out of Prilosec. I've never tried Prevacid. Good luck!

I had acid reflux after chemo. Chemo was on Tuesday and by Friday afternoon, I was uncomfortable with reflux. I ended up going on Rx Pepcid for the duration of chemo, and also used Mylanta to help. Watch out for Mylanta, too much can give you the runs. I was advised to eat a bland diet when it was at its worst. I ate mild foods like cottage cheese and eggs. I also learned that salami, while not spicey, is not bland. I forgot about spices, just had been thinking of hot spicey foods.
Please ask the oncologist if OTC meds are not helping enough.
Soothing hugs-

Fortunately, I did not have to have chemo, which is good since I already have acid reflux. I have taken Prilosec and Prevacid, but they quit working. I have now been on Nexium for the past couple of years. It works well for me....maybe it would help you.
Take care,

I had a real bad case of reflux last weekend following treatment. By Sunday night I had to sleep sitting up to avoid the acids coming up. Dr. prescriped Protonix. I was amazing. Within a day I felt fine. Try to stay away from acidy foods and fried greasy foods. Good luck, feel better.
