Take that recovery time as a reason to relax! They say no lifting more than 10 lbs for a few weeks I think. The first few days you won't feel like doing much. You'll probably have drains.
Sleep, rest, watch TV, be waited on and pampered if you have someone to help you! I felt unexpectedly much better than I thought I would. For me, the fatigue was way worse than the pain.
I did find holding my arms up even parallel to the floor was tiring. So holding a steering wheel up on top was hard for me for a while, as well as lifting my arms above my head (washing hair) for 2 weeks or so.
Everyone is a little different.
