Hi, Everyone, DH and I have been away for a few days.  I did speak to the internist in NY though and here are the results.  My second fasting glucose was 93.  Can you believe it??? I'm thrilled.  She also did 2 other tests: one measures sugar levels for the previous 30 days and that too was well within the normal range.  So I'm a happy camper. I love my NY dr.  She actually said to me that she didn't understand why a dr's nurse would feel she could make a dx like diabetes.  Her feeling (my dr's) is that news of that kind (serious, sit up and pay attention news) should only be delivered by a physician.  I couldn't agree more; it sure caused me lots of unnecessary anxiety. Luci: Congrats. What great news to hear first thing this morning. I agree with your NY dr. That nurse was totally out of line. She was just trying to "CHA" (cover her a**) as we say here in Mo. Mark that dr and nurse off your list.

Yea and Hooray!!! Your b/s was so close to normal, I, too, cannot understand what is up with the nurse. Personally, I would feel like smacking her. Weren't you told, somewhere along the line, that you shouldn't have any stress? Any possibility of finding another dr?

Hopefully, things will remain quiet for you now.

well I can not tell you how happy I am for you. I just love it, but at the same time want to climb in the car with Jo-Ann. I am sure I could learn how to make a human mop out of an out of line nurse. You never know info like that could come in handy. tee hee and so sorry for all the unnecessary stress. Love and Hugs Joyce

I am glad to hear you learned you are not diabetic, also. One test does not a diabetic make, just like one test can not tell you have cancer for sure. My doctor's nurse calls me to tell me with reports and messages from her. She is usually the one I talk to when I have a problem like when I need renewal of medication or am trying to decide whether or not to make an appointment. So I didn't have a problem with the nurse calling. But then I have been a patient there for many years now. I am just glad the problem is solved for you with good results. Hugs, MK

WOOOO HOOOO! Great news, what a relief!

Now, I know you are going to call that nurse and give her a piece of your mind....please give her a piece of mine too! Shame on her!

Hooray for you! Retail therapy is in order, as part of the celebration!

What great news! Thank goodness for great doctors that know what they ARE doing. (too bad that yours has to be so far away from you though)

Luci, I'm so glad to read that your diabetes is a "pork chop bone"!!!! You don't need anything else to complicate your life.

 I'm so glad to hear your news. I was pretty sure that things would be okay. I do think that the nurse was way off base in what she did. Also, I had E-mailed you a while ago, but don't know if you got it.
