Hi everyone. I have been doing great with my rads. I only have about 11 more to go, then about 4 to 5 weeks of NOTHING and then Arimidex. This week is the only week I have started to feel the results of radiation. I am turning a pale pink and have little bumps, like sun poisoning, on my chest (cleavage). I see my Radilogist (Dr) every Monday and he says that is sometimes a a side effect. I use the Aloe gel every morning right after the rads and then at night when I get home. Today was the first day that the fatigue hit me. I just felt so tired and decided to leave work about 3:30.....It wasn't too bad and even did some housework when I got home. The nurses tell me to give in to it and rest when I feel like I need to, but if I lay down when I get home, I won't get back up !!! Anyway, just wanted to tell everyone doing rads or getting ready, they really aren't too bad, except for this darn itching on my chest. I, too, have met some great and interesting people. I am the youngest at 58 and all of the men have prostate cancer and out of the 4 women I see, 2 have lung cancer and the rest of us have breast cancer.............All of the girls had a makeup session Wednesday night and it was mainly for those on Chemo, but the nurses wanted me to attend........You wouldn't believe all the makeup I got........$150.00 worth of Mac, Bobby Brown, Revlon, Clinique........etc. I had the best time.
If anyone has any questions about rads, feel free to ask me.
