mammorgram call back - first mammogram at 43

HI everyone -

I had my first mammogram yesterday and they have already called me back to (4/1/15) of all days ! she said they say a little mass on my right side and wanted to do another mammogram and diagnostic ultrasound.

I am trying not to let anxiety get the best of me, since having to wait until next Tuesday 4/7/15.. they did say that it is not unusual to get a call since they do not have something to go by since it will be my first mammogram to compare it too.

help ! i need some guidance and reassurance

I had that happen to many years ago after my first mammogram. They did not have anything to compare it to so they called me back because I have dense breasts and calcifications. Just keep us updated once you get the second one done.

I've had the same thing happen. I've even had a biopsy but it ended up being nothing. I'm 42.

 thank you ladies, its just the anxiety is getting the better of me and I feel like I am jumping out of my skin with nerves ! confused

So I get a letter from my mammogram office and it says that I have dense breast and that is why I need to come back. The gal that called me said that I had a mass on the right side and needed to come back. So I am not sure what to expect NOW ! I mean, I feel a little bit better about now, but still am worried.

I had a mammogram on August 26th. Yesterday I missed a call and got a voicemail asking me to call the breast center. I called today and they told me I need to come back in for a 2nd mammogram which would take 1.5 hours. The lady told me the Dr would be there to go over my results straight afterwards. I've just turned 40 and this is my 2nd mammogram. (My first was back when I was in my mid-20s when I had suspicious leaking from my breast which turned out to be nothing.) The woman I spoke to today didn't tell me if they had found anything, just that I should try not to worry.
Now, here's why i'm worrying. I'm due to leave the country on September 9th. When I told the woman this she said she had to speak to her supervisor. She then came back on the phone and told me they could fit me in on Friday.
Am I right to start panicking or should I try to relax. I'm a bit of a pessimist so of course I'm now thinking the worst and worrying about my 2 small children.
