DH has a conference/convention to attend otherwise we could never afford this. His company is paying for his air, hotel, transportation and meals. We decided it was the best way for us to get a trip like this at half price! And since we've only been married a little over a year, never had a honeymoon and have had all these nightmares this year we need it.

I am healed nicely from the hyster and have my energy back. So this ought to be fun.

I hope Claire gets in touch. We leave Sat. evening so I will be checking right up until late afternoon.

MK emailed me yesterday, otherwise I'd have missed your post!  First, have to tell you I'm not sure if I really qualify as a 'proper' London Breastfriend exactly....I had a scary few months with lumps and biopsies (hence got to know MK etc) and have regular check ups since, but was basically given the all clear.

That said - if you want a contact in chilly London, here I am!  I have an under 2 yr old and a load of pre-Xmas toddler events that week, so sadly might not be able to manage the time to meet up in person...but at the very least, you are more than welcome to get my email address from MK (not sure about posting it on a public forum, or how else to get in contact?) and let me know if you want my phone number.....that way, if you need anything while you're here, you can just call. 

Do you know where you and your DH are staying?  If you are West or South West, I stand more chance of ditching my toddler for a couple of hours and joining you for a cup of tea/meal!

I'm sorry to hear you had to go through a hysterectomy recently, but glad you're feeling so much better now - good timing for the trip.  Make sure you bring a warm sweater and coat, unless of course you plan on doing some London shop-visiting....;-)

Claire, we are staying the first 5 days at the Marriott on Cromwell Road. I think that's in the West/South west area. Is that close to you?  DH is free all day Sunday, most of Monday and then not really again until Friday. So I will be doing my own thing Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And he has a dinner to attend Tuesday evening too.  I think the tree lighting at Trafalgar Square is that night and I had hoped to see that. But I won't go out at night alone.

Kathy, about the London Eye, are you afraid of heights?  I am, and I am not so sure I could handle that since it has SO much glass/open views.  I really want to see London from that perspective but don't know if it would be worth it for me if I spend the entire time sitting with my eyes closed.
