Still worried

Hello to all. Hoping for similar stories to help ease my mind.
1st mammogram 1/24/19. Didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks, thought I was clear
Got called back for follow up diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. To say I was scared is an understatement. Since last week I have barely slept or eaten. Went today and saw a white spot in question. Ultrasound was a bit more challenging as the tech couldn’t find it. Radiologist came in and guided her. Still unsure I had to sit up in order for the image to be picked up.
Radiologist seems sure it’s a Fibroadenoma and stated he’s 95% sure it’s benign. Of course only a biopsy will tell.
Due to my health anxiety which was clear to them he gave me the option to wait 6 months and return or for a piece of mind get the biopsy since he felt due to nervousness I probably wouldn’t make it to that point.
Of course I’m going 2/26 for the biopsy but I must admit I’m fearing the worst. Radiologist was very sensitive to my feelings and kept stating I would be fine.
In reading I see that this is more common in your 20-30’s but I am 41 so I believe this is why I fear it’s something more. As per the radiologist, the spot is smooth and gives no indication of anything dangerous.
Anyone who can relate or has been given the same diagnosis please chime in so I can hear your story. This means the world to me and I see there is loads of support on this forum

Hi there. I’m just here to lend support. I understand your anxiety. Finding a lump is a very scary situation. I can tell you from experience that ultrasound makes a fairly clear image. If the radiologist said 95% that it’s benign then you are probably fine. I know that sounds lame. But try not to panic until there is something to panic about.

I got the opposite line. I was told 98% chance that what they saw was malignant. I didn’t panic, but I was sad, worried, scared etc. I can tell you that the worst part was the not knowing. So be kind to yourself and take good care.

Try to remind yourself to stay off of Dr Google, he is rarely right. Keep in mind the internet is full of a lot of inaccurate information. It can be a great source if a person has been diagnosed with something to learn, but I limit my searches to reputable medical websites.

You need the needle biopsy so you can know. Again, the not knowing is the worst part. Once I knew, I could move forward; begin the process of treatment.
