Today we welcomed Gia Marie into the family! She was 7 lb. 7 oz. and 20 inches long. Both Mom and baby are doing very well. Today is important to both sides of the family. One great grandpop was born today,many years ago, and on this date the other one passed. So we had all decided this would be a great day to have a new one added to the family. Since she already has a girl and a boy she did not ask what this one was going to be. As you can guess I was a wreck with a major storm on the way and her over due. The barometer dropped and so did she. She wanted us to know she had the baby in a hurry so we could all get home before it hit really bad. One thing that made this special...the first two I was not able to pick up because of damage done from the cancer cells down the nerves in my arm. This time I had no surgery so I went to physical therapy (still have not figured out what the time out ball was doing for my arm) and built my arm up enough so I was able to pick this little bundle up at least for a while. What a joy! I loved every second.  Thanks for listening to a grandmom brag.

Oh, Joyce, how precious!  That Gia Marie has good timing.  It's been snowing here all day, so it must be on its way to you.  And to think that you were able to hold her.  I was smiling through my tears! 

I hope this little one knows what grand grandparents she has in you and Vic.  Enjoy taking care of her siblings and just count your blessings, my dear friend.

The only thing better than a Deere is a new grandchild. I am so happy for you and Vic and what a pretty name she's been given. Today, every day of pt is worth it just to hold them. May y'all enjoy the love of that baby for many, many years to come.

Congratulations, grandma and grandpa! What a joy a new child brings to the family. Hope that snow storm is not as bad as predicted.  Been there, done that enough. Buy some extra bread, eggs and milk and you should be fine in a few days. We are about to switch into baby watch mode in a couple of weeks. DD Sarah is due March 19. Can hardly wait. Joyce: Congratulations! I am so glad that she arrived before the blizzard and it is wonderful to hear that everyone is doing well. I am so happy to hear that you were able to hold her after she was born. Isn't it wonderful? I have been present for my 3 granddaugther's births and it was an experience that I will always remember. My youngest dd wouldn't allow anyone at the hospital until after Noah was born. :( What she didn't know was that we were all outside in the parking lot. lol

Congratulations, Joyce.  I'm so glad you got to hold little Gia Marie; that is such a special moment.  See now, all those time out sessions on that therapy ball were worth it (even if we haven't figured that out yet)... it worked.

Congratulations Joyce!! Gia Marie sound gorgeous - I'm glad you (and she!) get to enjoy cuddles this time.

There's nothing quite like a new little life arriving...storms, sad news (I just read your post about Shells), and then a brand new person...what an amazingly rich world we live in.

May you and Gia Marie have many, many good times together!

I didn't connect the storm with the new grand daughter news. Whew it was nice of her Mom to be so considerate so all of you could be home when the snow fell. LOL. When you get a chance, please share a picture of Gia and Grandma. I love teeny tiny babies. They make life so special. Hugs MK

Congratulations on little Gia Marie's arrival! She sounds like a living doll.

Enjoy holding her little body next to yours, there is nothing like that feel of a baby next to us. (Especially when it is a grandchild!)
