Di: I am so sorry to hear your news. Your plate if very full right now. As someone said, please take time for yourself. If you don't, you won't be much help to your parents or be able to have a quick recovery. Your dr sounds fantastic.
I am thankful that your mom didn't break her hip. I worked in admin in several nursing homes, and most of the residents were there because of broken hips. It is difficult for them to realize that they can't do everything that they use to do. I have an uncle that has alzheimers. He and my aunt (both 80) live in St. Louis. 2 weeks ago he walked out of the house w/ his briefcase. He told his grandson he was going to work. He then preceded to get in the car and drove off. As soon as everyone realized that he actually had gone, they notified the police. They found him 8 hrs later. He had drive over 80 miles and hadn't hurt himself or anyone else. Thank God.
You and your parents will be in my prayers. Do you have any siblings that can help?
Gentle hugs and prayers...Deb
