Well, I'm not crazy after all.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to all of you but my father-in-law passed away just over a week ago and life has been a little disjointed.
The results of my mammogram came back and, as I expected, they showed nothing. Nothing but dense breasts.
With all of the happenings last week I decided to just keep my follow-up appointment with the Surgeon which was today.
He felt the lump but still does not seem too concerned. He says it feels like a ridge. He also explained that there is a normal ridge around the nipple. I agreed with him that I feel the ridge around the nipple but that this is another bump inside that ridge, almost under that ridge.
Anyway, he said we could do a biopsy or we could wait for a while and watch it. Well you all know what I did. Biopsy please.
So he did a biopsy right there. He says the results will be back within 3-4 days. It was funny, as he was doing it and poking the needle around he said "wow, you have very dense breasts". Yes sir, that's what I have learned through all this.
So I went in armed with all my info, articles and posts about dense breasts and cancer not showing up, etc and didn't even need to use it. Quite relieved really.
Hopefully he got enough cells for the lab to make a diagnosis. Otherwise, I am back where I started.
Positive thoughts.
Will let you all know.
Take care!
Best
Simone
