that I heard the words, "It's cancer." It is so hard to believe that 10 years have passed since that fateful day. Gosh, the time has really flown passed. My DD Sarah was in college when I was diagnosed. Since then, she has graduated, gotten married and had two babies of her own. I remember sending in my AARP membership after I was diagnosed. I didn't think twice about sending a check in for a 10-year membership. Later, I thought I must have felt pretty confident that I would be around for another 10 years. LOL Now, the membership cost has doubled, and three years is the longest deal offered, but I think I will take it. I do plan to be here for at least that much longer -- and years after that.  I know I can consider myself "cured" after 10 years. But, I know in my heart and my gut that I could have a recurrance. In the meantime, I just keep moving along. Many of you have been along on my journey for six of these years, and I am so glad we are still together. My life is richer for your friendship and that of the women we knew who have not made it this far. I don't know what I would have done without you or them. So, please celebrate 10 years of life with me today. Lauri

WOOOOO HOOOOO! Congrats on this gigantic and wonderful milestone! I see that you, like me, became a little introspective and reflective....a great benefit of this journey we have taken together. Can't wait to celebrate 10 more with you!

Hey Lady, Congrats. I am sooooooooooooooo very happy for you. It is a reflective time and I am so glad you are here to reflect with us. Now lets do that celebration dance Connie was so fond of telling us to do. LOL Love and Hugs and renew that membership for the max. I love that positive attitude. Love and Hugs and again, Congrats. Lauri, I'm glad to join in your anniversary celebration.  What an accomplishment this ten years has been.  I love your AARP story... I think I'll renew ours for the max this time too.

many things over these past 6 yrs  ..happy and sad..

Well, I missed the actually day, but CONGRATULATIONS!  What an inspiration to us all.  It is a wonderful thing to see posted.  I only hope I can someday post the same thing.  Thank you.

I loved the AARP story, too. I am right behind you six months...... We certainly have been fortunate. I had my mimmagram last week and am waiting for the dreaded letter. Last year I had to go back for more pictures, if I hear that again this year it will be scary. As you said you never feel completely "cured" or safe. A year at a time, step by step, we can add up the years. I'm glad you are here with us to share the good news. Hugs MK
