Gayle: I answered your post on Wags IBC post but I wanted to welcome you. I am sure that you will get replies from many of our other members.

I hope that you will post and let us support you until your appointment and afterwards if needed. We all have experienced the feelings that you are having now.

Hi Deb, I was getting ready to post a welcome when I realized I needed to sautee some onions for the sausages for dinner...hehehe....
Welcome Gayle! Wow, you must be scared out of your mind....sorry you are going through this now. Unless you have your MD, please abandon your internet searches until your doc appointment...look at the anxiety it is putting you through! While you could have IBC, you certainly may not have it,...try not to freak yourself out until you have more to support the diagnosis. After my diagnosis, I looked at my own chest xray. I was positive it was full of mets in my lungs, little round tumors all over the place. I was nauseous all weekend thinking about it...you know what it was? My blood vessels! I realized that since I did not have a radiology degree, it was silly for me to try and diagnose myself.
While information is important and empowering, it sounds like you are on information overload right now. My advice is to back off the research and try to stay busy until your next appointment. And keep us posted, OK?

Thank you for the welcome and the advice.....every little bit helps. I feel very blessed to have found this forum.

I am 39 - about to be 40 in two weeks - happy birthday to me! Seriously, my one true complaint is that it's the breast with the tattoo on! [I do know how to laugh at things, thank goodness!]

I live in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and while no stranger to breast cancer (one friend passed away two years ago and another is 4 years no sign of disease after a double mastectomy), I am severely guilty of believing it couldn't happen to me.

I'm happily married to my soulmate and we're finding this hard to talk about together - both not wanting the other to be upset any more than necessary, I'm sure.

I find the closer I get to the MD with the answer, the more frightened I am.

I will continue to read the posts of our forum and surround myself in the support I am getting from everyone.

Just wanted to welcome you to our not-so-exclusive club.  Sorry you had to join, but no better bunch of women will you find to help you through this.  Ask any question.  Nothing is too silly or minor, or major for that matter.  These ladies helped me through the hardest thing I've ever experienced and I am grateful.  We will help you, too.
