You are not gonna believe this  . . 9 years following diagnosis, too many recurrences to count, my infamous online BMT, hundreds of treatments, 5 times bald and my doc calls today.  Yesterday I had a PET/CT and it is CLEAR!!!  He told me there is NO EVIDENCE OF METASTIC DISEASE?!??!?!  He was stunned, kept looking over the report and reading it to me. I asked him what the plan is now and he doesn't have a clue . . .I am still on cloud 9 -- Of course the plan is to keep up my bi-weekly Gemzar/Herceptin, to keep me disease free for as long as the Lord allows, let my hair grow back and LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! yeah

Ladies -- coming from a lifer on this board, and I do intend to remain a lifer, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!!!

You go girl! Beat those drums! Play those horns! There's a celebration going on around here for Jackie!!!! Wow and double Wow, what great news. I remember all that you have been though over the years. Let's keep the records clean.

Remember several years ago when we met at the Grapevine Mall Rain Forest Restaurant? You brought your kids and I brought my grandkids? There was a little blonde headed guy with me who started taking trombone lessons in 6th grade band. It turns out he got all the right genes from all sides! He is so good on that trombone that his judge for solo contest told him "Bravo" you will play with a symphony some day. We just learned in the past few weeks that he has been chosen to play with the Fort Worth Youth Symphony, one of the youngest at 14 to ever earn that privilege. Next year they are going to China! I took him at Christmas to buy him a special mouthpiece he wanted and even the guys at the music store told me how good he is just listening to him trying mouthpieces. His Junior High Band director loves him.

That is nothing short of absolutely amazing! I couldn't be happier for you. Your attitude has always been positive-- even when you fighting like hell...A positive attitude goes a long way. You are an inspiration!

From someone with a negative prognosis to another, if I could see you now, I would kiss you. I've been in awe of you all through your journey. Anytime something got in your way, you managed to dance around it.

Congratulations just doesn't seem like enough to say. You are truly the ruling general in our sisterhood of b/c warriors.

There are miracles happening all around us, every day. Today, we learn of another miracle, yours. May miracles continue in your life for many, many more years.

BTW, if no one experienced the on-line BMT, you missed a once in a lifetime experience.

I think you should compose something your band can play in your honor. I'd be willing to come to Alabama to hear it.

That is just the greatest news, Jackie! If ever there were someone who has personified the idea of "living with cancer," it has been you. Let's keep that clean bill of health thing for a long, long time!

Jackie, I don't have the words to express my joy. I remember your online BMT. I had just finished mine and it was like reliving it again. I remember waiting for you to wake up. Being another lifer with a terrible prognosis. I can also say the the doctors certainly don't always know. They are forgetting who is in charge. You have given us all hope and showed us how to live. I was amazed at everytime you went back to teach! Cartlady gave it all up a lot sooner. I have a PET on Wednesday, and I will remember that if she finds anything, it can be sent into remission again. I will send your letter to my friend RoseMary. She needs some hope right now.
