Rachel is doing well ~~I need surgery on my arm again..sigh

Hello everyone...First of all thank you all so much for all your good thoughts and prayers for my daughter Rachel ! I really did feel your love and support surrounding us during this trying time.

The first of 2 biopsies has come back and showed that the Dr was able to get clear margins and that no further surgery is need at this point. The other test should be back today or tomorrow.She sees the Dr the end of the week, but at this point we dont think she will need Chemo !! She will need to have checkups every few months at this point to keep a close eye on everything.We are very relieved that at this point the news is very incouraging.

3 1/2 yrs ago I fell and had a compound fracture of my left humerous. It turned out that there as a large turmor there and that is why my arm broke. I had surgery to rebuild my arm. Well, as it turned out I had 4 operations in 18 months but finally the arm was okay. It has a rod and screws in it from shoulder to elbow plus Cadaver bone. I have had almost complete use of the arm these past 2 yrs. about a month ago I started having pain in the arm again. Saw the Dr last week and 1 screw broke plus some of the others are pulling away from the transplanted bone.I need surgery again..grrrrrr. It will be some time in August..

So happy to hear about Rachel.  I will continue to pray for her and you.  Your poor arm!!!  I will be thinking of you and hope that the arm heals quickly.

Cathi: What wonderful news about your dd! I hope that this last test comes back ok and that she will NOT need chemo. Lots of prayers continuing to be said for her.

I am so sorry to hear about your arm. I know that you feel that you just can't catch a break (no pun intended) Will you stop chemo before and after your surgery? Here's praying that this will be the last surgery that you will need and that you will heal in record time.

Cathi, I am so happy that Rachael is doing so well! That is wonderful news! I will pray that everything continues to go well for her.

It is great to hear the good news about Rachael. I will keep her next results in my prayers, too.

And your poor arm! But, it is good news that the problem is in the screws and old surgery rather than a new tumor!!!!! I'm so sorry you need surgery again. I don't care what the surgery is, just going through the anesthesia is hard on anyone.

Oh, Cathi, that is wonderful news about Rachel!  I am sure the next test's results will be even more comforting.  But, oh!  Your poor arm!  After all you have been through with that arm, I'm surprised that you have nerves that still work in it.  How are the newest chemo treatments going?  Better than the last ones they had you on?

Let us know when the surgery is.  Sure do miss you posting regularly!

My dearest Cathi, Long ago you become our Mightiest Hero and nothing has happened to change that. Whatever comes your way, you are always ready to deal with it, to fight the good fight, and to ALWAYS be concerned with others.

I am praying that Rachael will have a very easy time, especially if she doesn't need chemo. For you, however, I'm sure you know that all of us are not only on your team, but we've got Joyce firing up the PCE for the surgery. I'm sure she'll be taking reservations very soon.

I am so proud of you, words don't cut it. I've got leaky eyes right now and I think that says it all.

Sorry that your arm will need further surgery sweetie. Hopefully you will do as well with it this time as you did the last time. Darn, if it just didn't have to be for you!!!!!!!!!!!

Cathi, You know how excited I was to hear about Rachel. Now I want to hear some great news about you. I hope you know I am polishing the PCE. She is going to look like flying pink cotton candy. Now you know we will all be wearing boas. I plan on asking the pink brigade to think of the most outrageous summer outfit they can think of, for us to parade through the hospital in. Seems most of our outfits are winter. Nice to get out of pink boots and all the rest of the winter heavy dutys we have been wearing. Are you still talking about August 11? Well that gives everyone time to come up with something interesting to wear. You know we will all be there for you, pink champagne or pink lemonade to drink to your speedy recovery. I have to post this quick before I lose my connection again. I have lost three posts now trying to post to you. As you know the cable man was here again trying to get our road back on line. I am so glad its the whole road or I am sure the neighbors would talk about how often he is here. Love and Hugs. Joyce

I'm thankful for the great news about Rachel.  That must have eased her mother's heart.

As ever, you are in my prayers about this upcoming surgery.  I'm sorry you have to go through this again, but so thankful that it's only loose screws. 

Now I need to figure out my pink summer outfit to wear aboard the PCE!  That Joyce has presented quite a challenge.  One thing's for sure -- it won't be a pink polka-dotted bikini!

Cath, thank heavens for good news for Rachel. What a sigh of relief! And for you, I am so sorry to hear you have more to deal with, no rest for the weary. I'm sure you're in good hands and hopefully you will get some relief on that darn arm. Hang in there my friend, I'll find a pink thing or two to don for the flight.

Dear Cath, first let me say how happy I am with Rachel's results.  The best part is they are going to keep a close eye on her.  I can feel your relief. 

I'm sorry you have to have another operation on your arm...but glad it's a loose screw.  We'll be hopping on the PCE to be with you... hmmmm, I wonder how many shades of pink there are?

I'm glad to hear that Rachel will not need chemo.  What a relief.  Sorry about your arm, though.  Good luck in surgery and the recovery.  Let us know when it will be, so we can get the PCE there.

Hmmm.  Am I wrong or does this sound like good stuff?  The margins, even the screws moving is probably par for the course for something so often used like a QUILTER's arm.  I'm glad you're getting it fixed up.  You'll be good to go soon, knowing you.  You sound pretty bounced back!  I'm glad things are looking up.  I think of you often.
