First I would like to thank you for the support I found here yesterday.  I really appreciate it.

Secondly, the Dr.'s office called and I was able to see the surgeon late yesterday.  It all happened so quickly.  I wasn't prepared, didn't have sense enough to even know what questions to ask.  I dear friend went with me and I was greatful for that.  The surgeon said that sinse I have breast cancer in my family that that increased my odds considerably.  I didn't think it would since the breast cancer was on my father's side of the family.  She said it didn't matter.  Also, both my parents died from cancer.  Anyway, I'm rambling, sorry.  What it boiled down to is that I will have a mammotone on Friday afternoon.  She said I should have the results, at the earliest, next Wednesday.

Also, a friend of mine found out yesterday that she has breast cancer.  I'm going to give her this url. 

Oh man, this all is just maybe too much.

Hang in there. It does happen fast. Thankfully. Your surgeon is on the mark and is doing all the right things in a timely manner. Please keep us informed as to what they find. Sorry about your friend. I hope she visits the site.

We will be with you in spirit on Friday holding your hand until you get results.

It happened fast in my case too. Aug. 8th something was spotted while doin a catscan on my kidney, well,a mammogram on the 10th, ultrasound the same day, a biopsy the 22nd,waited to have a call come for me to see a surgeon, who removed the mass 2 days later. I'm still waitin on the results from the surgery. But all that in 3weeks!!! Try not be overwhelmed by it all. Go ahead and get what ya need to have done. Waiting is very hard, try to stay busy. Keep your chin up. You have found a wonderful place for info and friends............Good luck to ya.

Better that tests happen quickly than they are delayed. I know if feels a bit overwhelming, but you will get through it. I am a little uncomfortable with your doc telling you that having bc in the family increases your odds "considerably." It is my understanding that about 10 percent of breast cancers are in women who have a family history. At least 75 percent of breast cancers are in women with NO family history. Sorry you've lost both parents to cancer. How sad. But, cheers for your doctors in getting you in for that mammatome biopsy quickly. The sooner you know what you are dealing with the better. Let us know what you find out on Wednesday. Hang in there, Lauri
