OK, I may be a little crazy since I am chairing a state meeting for Minnesota Beta Sigma Phi members in October, but I was wondering if there is interest in a gathering here in the Twin Cities next spring? I am willing to check into hotel accommodations near the airport (and the Mall of America and Ikea) if there is interest. I am thinking April or May. Easter is April 8, which makes Passover starts April 3 according to my appointment book. If the dates are wrong, someone please correct me. Other April weekends are the 13, 14 and 15; 20, 21 and 22; 27, 28 and 29. May weekends are 4, 5, and 6; 11, 12, and 13 (this is Mother's Day weekend, but also the Sunday the Kohman Race for the Cure is run here); 18. 19, and 20; 25, 26 and 27 (this is Memorial Day weekend and we already have two places to be). Would like some input to see if there is any interest. Lauri

Hey, Lauri. I think a spring gathering is worth talking about. I know that I am expected at a family gathering in Missouri on or about April 22. I would vote for sometime in May? I'm sure everyone is busy right now just thinking about getting through Christmas!

But I would love to visit the Twin Cities area. I've heard great things! And I sure do miss seeing all the Breast Friends. I know we lost so many in such a short time there that our gatherings kind of lost their steam...but gosh, we always have such fun and always meet such interesting people! I think about our little frat boys we kidnapped here at the Holidome and wonder how the boy whose dad had just been diagnosed with a recurrence of lymphoma is doing. And remember (really old timers!) the waitress whose daughter had been diagnosed at 11 with ovarian cancer?

Thanks for starting the ball rolling, Lauri. Maybe we'll get it together this time!

I would love to meet all of you.  I don't have any commitments during that time period yet, so any weekend would be good for me.  The only thing for me is knowing far enough in advance to get a good price on plane tickets, since I'm so far away.

I just checked mapquest and figured a trip to the twin cities/Mall of America would be driveable from central Ohio. YAHOO! (for those of you that know I am scared to death of flying, you will understand where I am coming from) (-:

Something to look forward to. Actually, most of those weekends would probably work for me. Our relay for life team will probably be busy doing fund raisers during that time, but knowing what I would be doing (seeing my breast friends), I am sure my team would understand if I had to miss out on a fundraiser.

Will be watching for more of a definate date.

It sure would be nice seeing you all again. I agree, it has been way too long.

I would love to come. May would be better for me because I'm spending a week in March at my sister's in Arizona, so I would prefer a month in between so I'm not off work so much close together (did that sentence even remotely make sense?????)

Let me know if you need any help in the planning (anything that can be done at a distance).

Hey there,

Thanks Laurie for posting this possible Breast Gathering.  May would be better for me.  I would have to take off a Friday and possibly Monday, so let me know.  My Mom's birthday is May 4th, so should be around for that.

I too would probably drive as I could stop in Sauk Centre to see Aiden that way.  Sounds like most everyone interested is leaning toward May, so maybe you should check for the best hotel deals, etc and we could go from there.

Hi Lauri! Great idea. I would love to meet all of you in person. Mother's Day weekend is rather hectic here because we have our annual Mother's Day 5K Walk/Run for our Community Breast Cancer House and I am pretty involved. I know that our schools aren't out before the end of May so anytime inbetween.

Bev, where is your family reunion in MO? If it is close to where I live, perhaps we could meet.
