Hello,

Sorry I have been away so long ! Please know that even though I

Havent posted in quite a while, you all have been in my thoughts and prayers.

I will try to give you a quick update....Since early January I was doing

chemo again. I did A/C and 5 FU. I tolerated it pretty well. Some

nausea for a few days and aches and pains and exhaustion. Oh,

and I lost my hair for the 4th time...LOL. I had my last chemo the end of April. Although the tumors in the bones continue to spread, I will have 

to do chemo yet again. The Dr is giving me the summer off. She is

doing that because I told her I was not going to continue treatment.

I am getting tired of this....My pain is bad..but the oxycontin helps

and when it is really bad I take oxycodone in between. Oh forgot 

that I had radiation on my back in December. It helped the pain

some.

As some of you know my 29 yr old daughter was diagnosed

with Vulvar Cancer last summer. She had surgery last July

and has been doing well. This March she found a new lump

and had to have laser sugery in April. This time she found the

lump early.We are praying that she will do okay. Please keep

her in your prayers. She has a wonderful supportive husband and 3 beautiful kids

The grandkids are out of school but are so busy with baseball.

They are on 4 different teams so grandma is busy watching

baseball...!!!

My kitten Auti is getting so big !!! She is such a sweetheart

and SO much company..I just love her ...LOL

I will try to be better at keeping in touch. Kitty and Deb, thanks

so much for thinking of me... To All of you who asked about me..

THANK YOU....Also, I have to thank Joyce for reminding me to post..

my memory is so bad...I am blaming it on all the chemo I have taken these past 7 yrs. I have Chemo Brain big time.

Hey there Cathi! We miss you! I'm glad to hear you tolerated the chemo pretty well, considering how it has been terrible in the past. Hang in there! And we know you're thinking of us even when not posting, that is the beauty of our relationships....we can think of each other without posting, but we know that everyone is close in thought.

Enjoy your summer with the kids and keep on doing whatever makes you happy!

Thanks so much for dropping in and saying hi! Don't worry about your chemo brain, the majority of us have it here so we understand. Im so sorry that you are going thru so much. You and your daughter will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Oh it is wonderful to see your post, Cathi. I kept telling myself to call you but then I would argue with myself that perhaps you were resting or doing something important and getting to the phone would be a chore. I think I have at least eight phones in this house and it seems it always rings when I am furtherest away. I try to remember to take one with me when I go where there is not one like outside or to do the laundry. But you are in my thoughts often. When I am thinking of Carolyn I am also thinking of you. Dear Cathi...it is so good to see your post! I know you must be inundated with calls, so while I think of you often, I know that Joyce will give us updates.

I just got a new grandkitty, Beau, and he is visiting this weekend. He is so adorable! He was born on my sister's farm in Missouri, so our dogs are not so intimidating to him, when compared to my sister's horses!

I got a call from Liz yesterday, and she tells me she is going to make me a grandmother again as well...this one will be a grandpuppy. She thinks our first grandpuppy, Sasha, needs a playmate.

I've told the girls I will take all the grandkitties and grandpuppies they want to have...but I'm hoping the actual grandchildren are few and far between! LOL

IT IS SO NICE HEARING FROM YOU.  ALTHOUGH YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS IT IS STILL NICE TO SEE YOUR NAME.  I AM THRILLED TO BE ABLE TO KNOW A LITTLE BIT about YOUR LIFE AS IT IS TODAY.

 

I, TOO, AM GOING TO SOFTBALL GAMES.  MY GD STARTED IN HER FIRST LEAGUE THIS SUMMER AND JUST LOVES IT.  IT FEELS REALLY GOOD TO BE BACK ON A DIAMOND CHEERING A KID AND THEIR TEAM ON. 

 

I ALSO HAVE, ZOO CAMP, SOCCER CAMPS, LIBRARY READING PROGRAMS, ART CAMP, SWIM LESSONS, PIANO LESSONS, RECITALS AND YOU NAME IT GOING ON THIS SUMMER WITH SOME TYPE OF INVOLVEMENT.  THE GRANDKIDS KEEP ME BUSIER THAN MY OWN KIDS DID IN THEIR TIME.  MAYBE IT IS THAT I AM OLDER.  HA!!! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT. eyes

 

I HOPE YOU HAVE A PEACEFUL GOOD SUMMER.

Oh Cathi, I have been thinking of you so much! I am so happy you have posted an update. I hope you have a wonderful summer.
I am sorry about your daughter, I don't remember hearing about it before. Please know she is in my prayers, and of course, you are too. You are very missed dear friend.

I'm glad you sound good!  I'm sorry for your treatment woes, but you sound like you are enjoying your grandkids and that's exactly what you should be doing.  I'll keep you and yours in my prayers.  Thanks for dropping in!

I just got back from a week in Myrtle Beach and wanted to check the posts here.  What a pleasant surprise to see your post!!!!   It sounds like you are enjoying those grandkids of yours, aren't they just the most fun to watch with their sports events?  Ours keep us busy going to games , but we LOVE it and I wouldn't have it any other way. 

So sorry that you have had to go thru chemo AGAIN and do radiation.  I am so glad that the radiation helped with the back pain, bless your heart!  You are on my mind alot dear friend as is your daughter.  Please know that I send you many hugs and prayers.

Enjoy your summer off from the treatments.  And enjoy those ballgames, I am sure that your are meeting yourself coming and going with four of them involved with baseball but enjoying every minute of them.
