Birthday so we went out to dinner and had a very special time. Had lunch with

Friends at the cheesecake factory. Joyce was right..I had cheesecake for my

Birthday. Thank goodness I was feeling decent.



The past 2-3 months have been bad. I have been in lots of pain. Saw my onc last week.

A recent mri show that several vertabrae & 1 disk are completely covered with

Disease. There is disease on all the other vertabrae & ribs, hips/pelvis. Now

My other humerous is diseased also. They increased my pain meds from 60mg

Of oxycontin to 80 mg 3 times a day and oxycodone for breakthru pain.

All the meds make me so groggy that sometimes I prefer the pain over feeling

So out of it.

It's good to see you posting again. Glad you were out and about for your birthday. We are NEVER too ill for cheesecake!!!!! (or beefcake for that matter!)

Keep up the optimism. I hope you have some success with rads soon.

Cathi, the font was just fine, big red and bold. I am soo sorry you are having such a hard time with all that bone mets, I can only imagine the discomfort and I hate that you are going through it. Grrrrr.

Yes, my b-day was last week, on 12/6. Thanks for remembering! It was not the greatest day, we had been out of town the weekend before and we both got some kind of stomach virus. I missed 2 days of work with a fever and a cough. The cough is just now going away, I can go a whole day without Robitussin.

Cathi my dear friend,

So sorry to hear about the mets, and all of the pain you are having.  Cancer sucks!

Glad you had a nice birthday with your granddaughter.  Cheesecake Factory, I am so jealous.  I love that place, but fortunately for me, I don't live close to one, or I'd be in bigger trouble than I am already.

Will be giving you a call one of these evenings on the way home - just to visit.  It's been a while.

Take care, hoping and praying that the rads and chemo do their job and give you some much needed relief.  Hang in their sweetie.

Oh Cathi,

Sorry that I am late with your birthday wishes sweetie.  How special to be able to celebrate the same birthday as your granddaughter.  Cheesecake factory is my oldest daughters favorite place to eat.  When they get to a bigger town they always have to eat at the Cheesecake Factory.  Unfortunately, we don't have one close to us. 

Can I give you belated birthday hugs??  (((((((((((((((BIRTHDAY HUGS!!!!)))))))))))))))))

I think of you often dear friend and wonder how you are doing.

My dear Cathi...

I have been very remiss in keeping up on the board lately.  Just overwhelmed with work and family and life in general...but I guess that is a  good thing!  I woke up early this a.m., and just decided to see what was going on at healingwell, and yours was the first post up.  I was thrilled to see an update from you!

I so wish you had better news to share.  I can imagine how tired of this you must be, my friend.  Such a battle, and I hope you are so proud of the fight you have put up! 

I, too, hope that one of those trials is the answer and you can report regression of this dam disease soon.  My Christmas wish!!!

Oh Cathi, if there was only some way to stop all this disease!!!! God love you, you have been through so much.

I am seeing a few years into the future and Carolyn going through it all, too. She's still refusing to let us do things for her. Erica offered to do her Christmas shopping and help her wrap, etc. It would help her and us if she would just let us do something. I hope you have lots of help and accept it.

There is nothing we can do physically for you girls to help the pain or stop what is going on in your bodies. I would gladly give my body to any of the younger women if it could be arranged. Not that I don't enjoy life, but I have lived to see my children grown and successful, to see them have wonderful children like they were. And now the great grandchildren, they are the most precious babies.

Bless you dear friend, I hope you find some comfort from your pain in the holiday season and your wonderful family surrounds you with love. I know your friends from Healingwell and other hood over the years love you very much.

Cathi, all I can do is echo what everyone else has said. I am so sorry you have so much pain. Let's hope and pray one of the new drugs will stop the progression of the disease. Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday, and how special it must have been to share it with your granddaughter. Precious memories for both of you. Hoping you have a joyous Christmas. I too am so sorry you are going through what you are. I hope and pray that the treatments will work for you. It has to be extremely hard to deal with. All I can say is hang in there and be as strong as you can. You are in my thoughts. Try to have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
