I am afraid of going to the gyn

Hello,

this is my first post. I hope that you can help me and that I can help you with your problems in return.

I have a breast lump, and I first felt it over 2 years ago. It is over one cm long. Under my nipple area, and if I squeeze the breast, I can see it.
It is rather hard, and has not grown much in size since I first felt it. I am 25.

I am afraid that it might be cancer. Yet I cannot go to the Gyn. I have never been there. Whenever I try to go to one, I panic and leave. The older I get the harder it becomes, because clearly it is rather disgusting that I've never been to one.

What can I do?

Item, #1, make an appointment with a GYN NOW. Talk to his/her nurse and let them know that you have never been to a GYN before and tell the nurse why. I suggest that you might be more comfortable with a female GYN, but I have been to both. When you make the appointment tell them your story, the whole story so you can get in quickly. Next, it probably is not cancer, so you need to stop worrying. I was 26 when I had my first lump which was benign.
Make that appointment and let us hear from you. No more procrastinating!!!. It's not knowing that can hurt you.

What can you do? Follow Judy's advice and get that appointment made and pronto. Chances are it is not cancer, but if it is you need to be doing something about it. I was almost 29 when I found my first lump, it was benign and that was 40 years ago. I had it removed and have had no problems with that breast since. Now the other breast had cancer in it 12 years ago. So get busy and find out what is going on. Then come back and let us know. Please. Hugs MK
