I feel so alone and find that I can't really talk about my fears because I have to be the strong one in my family. I am so scared about the waiting game, even though it's only a week. While I think you should be concerned, I think you should also remember that it may well be nothing. A few years after my mastectomy, I got a callback on my mammo for my remaining breast. The nurse told me there was a "mass" that they wanted to get more views of. It turned out to be nothing. Literally, nothing. No mass at all. It was just they way the tissue had been compressed.

And you are not alone. We're here, and there are lots of women who've been where you are... I think most of us have felt the need to feel strong for our families. So feel free to visit and vent and ask questions... we'll do our best to help you through.

I also got a callback yesterday and I have such anxiety. The response from my husband when I told him I had anxiety was to "take a pill you f'in b*tch." So the support from home is less than desirable. The radiologist can't get me in for another week and I am constantly on the verge of tears.  I'm 35 with no family history of cancer. It is still unsettling.

I just had a call back this morning. My mammagram was yesterday morning. I have to go back for extensive tests and I haven't a clue what that is???
I am also suppose to go to breast health (this was booked prior to my mammagram for biopsy)

I had a breast reduction 5.5yrs ago and have had problems like this before, but never had a call back after Mammagram.

What should I expect??? Should I be concerned?? I DO have a lump that the dr was concerned after I had an u/s two weeks ago for the thickness... but she said they saw no calcium. I don't know what all this means and feel kind of in the dark about what is going on. I wasn't worried at all since I have had.

I also had a chest xray yesterday and have been having nightsweats for two yrs, hotflashes and AM NOT going through early menapause or have thyroid problems (I had this all tested already)

Just wondering if I should be concerned?? What should I expect?? and really have no answers

I am only 40yrs old and have 6 kids.. 5 of them very young still one who is only 22 months old.

Hi, ebook addict. Love your name! I think it is good that they are sending you to a breast health center. They typically have the facilities to do a number of procedures there, so you will probably get quicker answers this way. I suspect your doctor told you they saw no microcalcifications, which, when clustered, can be an indication of DCIS, or ductal carcinoma in situ. These are usually seen on mammogram, and they look like salt sprinkled on the mammogram. The ultrasound usually is used to distinguish a fluid-filled cyst from a solid tumor when there is a suspicious area on the mammogram. It sounds like your doctor is determined to find out exactly what is going on, and that is a good thing. You are lucky!

When are you scheduled for your next tests? As far as should you be concerned, of course you should. You're 40 and you have 6 kids, and you don't know what is going on with your body! But try to save the worrying til you know whether or not there is something to worry about. If you have specific questions, we'd be happy to try to answer them. Let us know how it goes!

I have already had an ultrasound alittle over two weeks ago and Mammagram was Monday plus xray of chest. I got the call back yesterday morning (alittle under 24hrs later) I am just curious what more extensive mammagram and u/s and other tests are they doing?? I have tried to contact my dr to see if she has results (I live in canada and they will not give info unless from dr and also another reason I am shocked I heard back only a day later when I was told I owuld get results in 5 to 7 days) and it seems weird because I was already booked to see breast health for biopsy?!? So I am just alittle weirded out by it all and although I am not trying to read more into it. I do have lump (thickness also in same breast but on other side) but I thought it was scar tissue from breast reduction...
Owell I guess I have to just wait and see.

I would be confused, too! If you already have a surgical biopsy scheduled, then I can't even guess what other tests they would be doing before that. There are other tests they can do, yes, such as breast thermography or an MRI of the breast, but a surgical biopsy is going to give you a clear answer that you won't get from more imaging studies.

Do they think that your nightsweats and hotflashes are related? And the chest x-ray was because? ( I had to have a chest x-ray before leaving the hospital after each of my girls were born... don't know if that is true in Canada, but til I had been dx'ed with brest cancer, I never had another one.. now I have chest CT annually)

LOL... I think I have more questions than you do!

Let us know how it goes... and I'll be interested to hear what tests they are scheduling you for, too!
