I didn't realize how pitiful I sounded til I read it tonight!
Anyway, I do miss my JoAnnie, but usually remember her with a light heart and laughter, which is how she would want it to be.
For instance, at our last October Union meeting, the next date we could agree on happened to be JoAnnie's birthday. I mentioned it, and someone else said, "Oh, we should have a party!" So the Union Rep said, "Sure, bring cake! We'll just make it a party!" I looked at her and said, "You do realize that JoAnn is dead, don't you?" The look on her face, ladies...I had no idea a person's jaw could drop so far. We were all cracking up. JoAnnie would have been laughing right along with us, I know. (And by the way, we did just that!)
And then there was the first day at my new office in Siberia...an office JoAnn would have shared with me...I pulled into the parking lot and right in the middle of the lot sat a big old painted turtle, checking out a "W'04" bumper sticker on our republican congressman's car. (We share the same building...wouldn't THAT send JoAnn off the deep end!) We spent about an hour taking pictures of that silly turtle, and you know, he never once pulled his head in. Me thinks he'd had a marguarita or two!
So thanks for the many sweet replies I got. I guess Benito's sadness came through in my post. But just wanted you to know that, for the most part, LIFE IS SO GOOD!!!
Tomorrow is my BIG TEN anniversary and I remember so well the days i didn't think i had a snowball's chance of making 5, but here I am, and I don't have any plans of leaving this world anytime soon!
love and hugs to all...
