She said to tell you all Hi and thanks for the prayers and thoughts you are sending her way. AND SHE SAID TO TELL YOU IN BIG LETTERS, BE SURE TO GET ANTIBIOTICS IF YOU GET A CUT THAT HAS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM. She didn't think of it until she got home, she had some old antibiotics left over and tried taking them, but they did not help.
Latest update. The doctor has increased the antibiotics. The arm is beginning to look less red but is not really any better. She will be in the hospital at least through the weekend. When she and I talked earlier we were wondering if a lymphedema massage might not help move the lymph and allow the antibiotics to get moving better, so she asked the doctor and he is sending a PT person to see her this afternoon.
She is bored to death, the TV only has about ten stations and her favorites are not amongst them. She has not left her room because of the IVs and needing to wear the hospital gown to accomodate them. I told her to ask for a second gown and put it on backwards from the other and then she can go walking up the hall. Her bathrobe will not work with the IV. I talked to her about going over and she says no it is too far to drive for a short while. Sure, and didn't we drive three times that far to OK to see Mel? I am going to have to go before too long just to see what this arm looks like. She says it is all bruised and blotchy looking and the dr says you can see the trail from the cut................ does not sound good at all to me.
Will keep you posted. If you want to call, it is fine with her. Phone number is in other post. If I had it right here I would add it.
Hugs and prayers for Jo-Ann,
MK
