We have snow covering the grass and the forecast is for three inches by four pm.  Most unusual in our area.  Unfortunately it didn't wait until Christmas day.  I am still wrapping packages, sending Christmas cards. Still do not have all my shopping done. Will someone remind me next year to begin a little earlier?  How are all of you doing with preparations? I just hope by Saturday I am ready and can get dinner ready on time. LOL.  My dd in the Cincy area just IMd me they have a forecast of 12 inches today.  Hugs, MK

And I thought it was cold here in Atlanta! I can honestly say that I'm glad I'm not there right now. I just don't do well with the "s" word and remember the Valentine's Day fiasco with snow, ice, and my satellite dish.

 

In some of those northern places, won't the "s" last over Christmas? I'm off to do a bit more shopping here. I can tell you that the traffic here is a nightmare and that's at any time of the day.

 

MK, I think a "s" day qulifies as a cave day.

We have a dusting of snow here in the northland, but the temperature outside is 5 degrees. Brrrrr!!! The windchill last night, or may it is tonight, is supposed to be in the -30 range. That means NO exposed skin or you risk frostbite. Hope we can avoid the snow on our trip to Indiana. But, I have a feeling they will have more snow there than we have here. Just hope the temperatures are milder. MK, I hope you get that shopping done. I know in TX you folks usually wait for the white stuff to melt. Good luck. Holiday hugs, Lauri

We got the cold and the white stuff coming too. Too bad I am heading out on a plane tomorrow, and hoping we don't get stuck on the runway. Weekend highs here in the teens. Several inches of snow tonight and tomorrow....

Gosh, and this is just the 2nd day of winter?

Well it is about five hours later and still snowing, altho it did let up for awhile. I saw on the weather station that Evansville, IN and through the midsection of OH from Cincy on up would be getting about 20 inches. Are we all being treated today? But not much snow in MN, huh? I have done all shopping I am going to do but I do need to get to the mall and pick up a package ordered over the internet at Sears. I will do that tomorrow when my 18 yr old grandson is here to help. Then I will take him out to eat. Sounds like a winner? Hugs MK

MK, it's coming down here really good! Saturday we are heading to Cincy for Christmas Day! I am done with everything. Cooking Friday for the kiddos and then Saturday off to OH. Tonight I am nesting! LOL

Well, MK, your winter storm has headed right over here to Little Rock. Hannah is SO excited! Can't remember the last time we had snow at Christmastime....

Well, here in Central Ohio, it has been snowing all day. We have about 6 inches with sleet starting to fall right now. We are suppose to continue through tomorrow afternoon with a total of about 10 inches depending on whom you listen. Some say we could have a total of 20 inches. What will be will be!!! And of course the snowblower wouldn't start, so my DD and I shoveled the driveway and walk about a 1/2 hr ago and you cannot even tell we did it. My DH will have to redo it this evening, if he wants. I'm done, my knees are yelling at me and I still have baking, wrapping, and finishing work on homemade gifts. I hope it clears up enough to be able to go to Christmas Eve Midnight Mass. First Christmas with our new little girl. Both the girls are making it so much fun. Prayers being said for the board for blessings to us all during the holidays and the new year. Love and hugs, Candy

Ours has melted! We went from 30 degees colder than normal to 30 degrees warmer than normal. Snow has all melted and friday more is on the way. We are just so lucky. I hear we are getting a mix for the holiday. Rain sleet and snow. Should make my travels interesting. L&H Joyce

Say what Joyce? You are having a heat wave and all the rest of us are turning frosty with icicles hanging from our noses? The kids next door, Mom and 4 year old and a little friend made a snowman. AND the weatherman says more is coming tonight. Right now it is 27 degrees. My grandson is coming in from Milwaukee tonight. I hope and I pray they make it to the airport to get him. Finally the tree is all trimmed and the packages all wrapped that I have here to do. Several should still be delivered but they just said on the news this snow will probably make the mail service and UPS have problems. Hmmmm guess we will wrap and give when they get here and prolong Christmas that way. I remember when I was a kid, I had umpteen aunts and uncles who all got me presents for Christmas. I kept a running total of what I still could expect and Christmas went on all week. LOL I WAS NOT SPOILED, just the oldest grandchild on both sides. Now you know why I am such a stinker. Love, MK

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW , LET IT SNOW (AND PLEASE LET MY HUSBAND COME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!)

Yes, here in central Ohio we have seen the white stuff coming down all day long. Wes is out plowing with the rest of the ODOT crews (for those of you who do not know what ODOT is, it is OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION). Probably won't be home until midnight (if he is lucky enough to get a few hours of sleep before he has to hit the roads again).

I have one more gift to get wrapped. AHHHHHHH Hope the knee holds up with all of this hustle and bustle of Christmas chores. My knee surgery 5 weeks ago has put me alittle behind in getting things done. Oh well, somehow everything always seems to fall into place each holiday. What doesn't get done, just won't , and I am not going to stress about it either!!!!!!

Hoping that everyone else is staying warm and snuggly while watching the snow (it sounds like alot of us are getting it).

Wishing everyone of my dear friends here a happy and joyous holiday season.

I don't mean to rub it in, but you should all be here in sunny Southern California.  Our forecast for Christmas is sunny and in the 70's.  Ah, yes - a perfect Christmas day!  I'm originally from OH, so I know what you are going through.  I went home 2 years ago for Christmas for the first time in 20+ years and it started snowing Christmas eve night and all day Christmas.  It was PERFECT!  Then it didn't snow anymore the rest of the time I was there.  I had a fantastic time being with my family again at the holidays.

Well, I don't like the s word either for traveling. And. Lauri, Indiana is exactly where I would have been today had it not s'ed. When I taught, I would dump my car and get a ride or call a cab at the least bit of it. Heading for Chicago tomorrow. It should be OK just cold. Will try out my new garage sale snow blower today. I'll reverse the trip and go to Indiana last. Hope all of your trips are safe and happy. I'll be praying for all. Love, Di
