of some people. In early Dec, I called my onc's office and told them that I was going to be out of town for almost a month, had my appointment with the onc confirmed on Jan 17 at 10:15 am. I also told her that my yearly tests were due and I wanted them scheduled for Jan 12-14. They didn't call me back so I figured they had taken care of everything.
I called today to be sure and once again, I am trying not to be nasty. Actually, I bit my tongue until it started to bleed. I was informed that my onc appointment was Feb 4 and that my tests were set up to start on Jan 19. They wanted to know if I got their letter. I told them that none of my mail was being forwarded to Atlanta and explained what I had told them in my initial call while stressing that I told them I would be out of town.
Don't you love it when they leave you on hold and you're using your cell phone? They're supposed to be trying to set up appointments for next week. They told me that the onc had an open appointment on Jan 17 at 10:15 am and did I want that one. I told them that WAS my original appointment. Can you just see me having tests, scans, and an onc appointment while toting around a very active 9-month-old?
After all this time, I still dread those darn things. I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. The onc has moved his office and it's a good thing. Everytime I turned the corner into his old office, I had to fight back the nausea. Just once, I wish something would go as planned.
Sorry to vent.
Love, Jo-Ann
