Lori, All I have to say is WOW! Amazing article with some of the strongest wording I've seen, especially for metastatic disease ("demonstrated a superior response rate..."). THANKS for posting it.

Funny thing.....as I was reading it here in my office, (on a cloudy day), the sun came out so fast and so bright, just as I was reading the passage "ABRAXANE is the first in this new class of drugs. "... it seemed appropriate!

Thank you! I called my friend who has the lung mets. I am really thrilled with this news. And, for those of us who are ER-, this is the news we have been waiting for for a very long time. This could well put many people into remission who would not otherwise have had anything. Lots of L& H's to you! Di

While the article sounds very promising, don't forget to do your own research. You may want to check with comprehensive cancer centers, american cancer society or nih.

Just a disclaimer...

But what great news if this turns out to be the answer to a lot of prayers!

This does sound wonderful. I am anxiously awaiting to hear more. Wonder why we haven't heard about it on the news yet? They seem to bring us all these studies that tell about lighting and baby weight and red meat and charcoal grilling........... Hugs MK

I typed abraxane into google, and a number of official looking sites come up, so it must be legit. I did not read the articles, but they at least indicate the new drug has been approved. Printing an article from a .gov or .edu site may be more convincing.

Sorry, they won't take my grilled red meat away!

Funny you should mention it . . I went to onc. today to talk about my options and this was one of his suggestions.  I start this drug two weeks from now because it allows me to keep taking my herceptin as well.  I am not even thrilled at the thought of losing my hair for the 4th time but will get used to the idea.  Will keep you all informed on the progress.

That answers two of my questions. We will lose our hair with it even though it is non-toxic, and you can take it with herceptin. I will tell my friend with lung mets. She has been on hormones but may need to start herceptin next with some chemo. But, didn't you say that it hurt your heart? Are they still willing to give you the herceptin? That would be good news.
