Hi, Joyce. It is scary! Our stories here are probably not very reassuring. But let me assure you, that is because most of the women who have callbacks don't ever have to post here again. I didn't have a callback when I was diagnosed. As a matter of fact, my two tumors were totally missed on my mammogram! My doctor insisted on a biopsy, anyway, because the masses were palpable. Several years later, I did have a callback for a "mass" in my remaining breast. I sweated it out for 6 weeks, sure that I had cancer again. They did compression views. Nothing. Nada. No mass. So hope your callback is the same. As far as family history... my mom died of cancer when I was seven. Lost two aunts to cancer. And then my brother was diagnosed a few years after I was. I had the genetic testing done, and, I was negative. I still think there is a familial link, but there is no proof of that for now.
Hope all goes well for you! Let us know how it goes.
Hugs...
