Asymmeteric breast - I am so nervous

My wife had pain in her right breast and then we noticed that it was slightly enlarged. She went for a memmo and they told her that she has asymmetrical breast with slight dense or somethign to that effect - I wasn't there with her then. Now she is called back for an u/s. I am so nervous. enlarged breast with pain and feeling of fullness - Should we be worried about this? Please let me know if someone had similar symptoms.

Hi js. It's difficult to determine what kind of condition your wife may have; I'm not a Dr. and can only offer my opinion.
With what you've written, this could be an infection, could be fibrocystic changes, an US will help to identify any changes that may look like it needs a better view; this is a common and reasonable approach to a question on a mammogram.
I know this doesn't provide you with the answers you seek, but in this case, you're going to have to wait until the ultrasound; make sure you get a copy of the films and a copy of the report, you can request these, normally, at time of check in. If you need to see a Dr. after this, search for a breast specialist and not just a general surgeon; having copies of films and reports will help you in any future appointments, if needed, or for historical record too.

Agree with Jane. This could be a lot of things, and only a doctor can tell you what it is, for sure.

Thank you all for your responses. We went for another mammo and US. It turned out to be just dense tissue. All is fine. Thanks again you all.
