My doctor's office called today with the results and now, of course, I can't remember exactly what they said. Must have them faxed to me tomorrow.
Here's what I remember: They did not see a mass or anything that "looked" malignent. They did not see the lump. Something about fibrous somthing, but I can't remember if they said I had fibrous tissue or a fibroadenoma. They do recommend I have an ultrasound. I asked if they had any appointments this week as I'm scheduled for a consult with my surgeon on Friday. 1st available is April 5th. They had a cancellation so put me down for March 31st.
So it sounds good and I'm guessing just a cyst. If I go see my surgeon on Friday and haven't yet had the ultrasound, do you think he'll aspirate the lump then and there to find out if it is a cyst? Do they just jump and do that or normally schedule a separate appointment? I'm not concerned too much about the ultrasound if he'll do that right away.
This board has been so inspiring. I was reading the bios last night and am just amazed at all the positive spirits here in the face of so much uncertainty. Thank you all for your responses and prayers!
