Does anyone watch this show? I am totally addicted to it. I love shows that I actually learn something from. The newest member of the Starting Over House is a bc survivor. She is about a yr out in her treatment. I have found that some of the things that the counselors are talking with her about and her feelings are some of the same things that I have and am dealing with. Thought you all might find this show interesting.

Thanks for sharing. I have not ever watched this show but would probably find it more interesting with the bc story. I hope they are doing a good job of making the story realistic. I know when Sex in the City had this issue it caused a lot of controversy. I didn't watch, it either. I tend to watch more history, educational TV. LOL. Well, sometimes. Hugs MK

Starting Over is a reality show. Nothing like Sex In The City. The women that are in the "house" are of various ages, backgrounds, etc. Each is dealing with problems that are keeping them from moving forward. Iyanla, a noted author, is one of the counselors on the show. It is on weekdays, 10am and 1 am, on Fox. (I think) I was impressed with what I heard today and how they are dealing with the bc issue.

I really have gotten addicted too. The little girl from NC has touched me. I grew up in SC and she reminds me of a cousin of mine. I have to say the new bc house memeber is interesting and hard at the same time. They really do help people deal with their own individual problems. It would have been great to have a life coach and councelor back when I was going through treatment and the aftermath. I was lucky I found you all not long after treamtment. I couldn't have made it without you.

I noticed Starting Over on two different stations on my Dish Network yesterday and thought maybe I should watch. Now that you have told me a little more, I will do that. I sure didn't mean to imply that the shows were alike in anyway. I just know a lot of everyday people breast cancer survivors are not always happy with some of the media coverage. IE Suzanne Somers and her ideas. Wonder what and how she is doing these days? Anyone heard anything? Hugs MK

The last I heard of old Suzanne was an article in the LEF magazine which I thought was disgusting. She was touting her new book. It was mentioned that pages 69-70 deal with her b/c. Pardon me, but my pathology report was longer than 2 pages.

It would take something stronger than that to convince me that she ever had it in the first place. She just got caught coming out of the plastic surgeons office and had to quickly come up with an explanation.

rofl...Jo-Ann, I think that you have hit the nail on the head as far as Suzanne Sommers is concerned. Wow, a whole 2 pages of her book to bc. What a woman! :gag: What really upset me about her was how she was singing the praises of the alternative treatments on every station and talk show. But, when she had to use the good old tried and true treatments, she was nowhere to be seen.
