Blood & Protien in Nipple Discharge, nodule found

Hi... 44 yo women, no family history of breast cancer. Bloody discharge from left breast nipple. Just had a mamo, they found a cycst and what they called a "nodule". They found blood and protien in the discharge but no cancerous cells. They scheduled an aspiration and a biopsy for 2 weeks away! That seems like a long time to wait. Should I push to have the biopsy done sooner? Two weeks seems like a long time to wait, if its cancer can't it spread??? I need opinions please. Thank you for your time!

Two weeks seems like forever when you're waiting for the other shoe to drop, doesn't it. But in terms of breast cancer, it is not very long at all. Most breast cancers have been growing for 8-10 years before they can be detected on a mammogram... and even longer before they are palpable. So you really don't need to rush the biopsy, but the waiting part is hard, mentally, I know.

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't sure about waiting, but now I feel a little better. It's so scary to have to depend on the medical community, they don't say much. It was so nice to have this message board to "turn to". Thank you!!!
