I'm bleeding rectally, more is coming off the TP than usual when I'm constipated. and the water has blood in it, and some of the stool bloody. It hurts, too. I took a laxitive earlier today, and I've been on stool softeners since starting the iron. It just happened again, this time more painful and more red. This started a couple of days ago. I'll call the doc, tomorrow, I guess, if mine is on call. If not, I'll wait and talk to him on Monday.

Let's all hope it's the iron pills.

I'm totally too young for a colonoscopy, then again, I was too young for breast cancer, too.

Now wait one minute, Dr. Ellen. Maybe you should head to the emergency room? I think this is sounding a little more serious. Or can you call your drs answering service and leave a message for them to call you? I really don't think you should wait til tomorrow. At the very least lie down with your feet elevated until you get hold of someone. Do you have a blood pressure cuff to check and see how that is? Probably not, only the people with high BP would have one. Hugs and prayers all is ok, MK

Hi Ellen. Take a deep, deep breath, dear. I know how frightning this can be. Canceritis (every, ache, pain, bruise is cancer, to us) really sucks. I have had this problem, more than once. Do you have hemorrhoids? Mine was due to hemorrhoids. My sister had the same problem, as well, and hers was due to diverticulitis. Crossing my fingers, that it is a minor issue and that everything will be fine.

Ellen,

Did you call your doctor? I'm worried and hope to hear good things soon. Iron will defintely make you constipated and that can definitely make you have a hemorrhoid. And when blood mixes with water it really can look like alot!!!! Hang in there, and please let us know!! Sending prayers your way!

Ellen: So glad that you talked to the Doc. I posted to that before I saw this post. I have the same problems, especially after iron intake. I love prune juice, so that is what I drink. Yum. It helps with the hemorrhoid problem. Yuk, the things we need to share. Hugs, Candy
