Chemo and insurance

haven't been on in awhile. just been living life while taking chemo. insurance would not approve pet scan. said i needed a ct scan and bone scan since I haven't had them in over a year. everything seems to be about the same except liver tumor shrank from 4.2 to 2.8 and found another small liver lession. bones are stable showing small amounts of healing and I don't know about some spots that showed up on pet scan because ct sees things differently. like comparing apples to oranges. i was taking abraxane and carboplatin but had an allergic reaction to the carboplatin and had to go to emergency room. I was ok. They are changing it to a sister drug. I was diagnosed with breast metastic cancer on 7/12/11. originally had bc on 12/09. I had a tumor 3cm in left breast and only isolated tumor cells in sentinol node. all other 17 nodes were clear. er positive.

Good luck with your treatment and hope you recover very quickly. Good user name for you. I went to doctors yesterday afternoon with a lump in my right breast, which doctor says is attached to my breast bone and waiting for appointment to come back in next two weeks at the hospital to investigate it. Will stay on top of your threads and once again good luck to you.

Liz, thank you and keep me posted on your condition. I will tell you something. I had the choice to have chemo before surgery to shrink my tumor and I wish I would have went that way just so I knew what chemo worked on my cancer. Just a thought.
