Hi, everyone.  I spoke with Cathi last night around 10:30 EST.  She was wide awake as usual.  And that I think is part of this whole problem she's having - sleep deprivation.  She's exhausted from the chemo-induced diarrhea and can't sleep because of all the meds she's getting.

That said, she sounded a little better.  Good news on the brain MRI - results were all negative, so she was relieved about that.  I was holding my breath when she started to talk about it and wanted to jump through the phone when she finally got to the results.  I said my prayer of thanksgiving last night before going to bed.  I'll take whatever positives there are.

Well this does sound like good news! Now, if her doc can get the right meds to kick some cancer butt, then we'll be set.

I think we were all holding our breath on the MRI. It is great news!!!! I know she is living with some really nasty problems but this is certainly a positive to be thankful for. Thanks so much for letting us know, Luci. Jo-Ann has just called me when I logged on and I had to disconnect to take her call. Her first question was, have you heard anything about Cathi's MRI? Well, if she had waited just a couple minutes more I could have shared the great news with her. Now everyone can get a good night's rest, I hope. Hugs and prayers, MK

Have you any idea of what it is like "happy dancing" in the teenytiny kitchen of my teenytiny house with half the contents of my freezer in my arms? Well it is the best thing I've done in quite some time. I have been so worried about this and was so happy when MK called. (I really was putting away the frozen stuff from the store.)

I'm toasting you, dear little sister, with a Wolfgang Puck french vanilla latte, only 9 carbs. I will spend the entire day thanking God for a clean MRI. Now if we can just tug his hand enough to let the drs find something that works without all these side effects, I'd be so happy I'd walk to So Euclid!!!

It IS good news, isn't it?  I've been thinking about it all day.  One thing I forgot to add is that Cathi and onc. have decided to discontinue the zeloda and just go with the taxotere.  Maybe that will work better and Cathi will still have a decent quality of life.  Let's pray hard.  L&H's, Luci

I'm so glad the brain scan was negative.  I'm glad there's positive news.  I'm praying she'll get to rest.  Say "hi" for me too, please!

Boy, that is wonderful news.... Of course I'm sorry she is still battling the drug side-effects, but thrilled that her MRI was clean. Please give her a big healing hug!

What uplifting news! It is about time Cathi gets some GOOD news.

Hoping that dropping the Zeloda will help those darn side affects.

Please tell Cathi that I am thinking of her and praying for her.

I was afraid to turn on the computer today and am SO happy that I did. I will also be thanking God for Cathi's MRI results. Now I hope she will be feeling much better soon. Love to you, Luci and Cathi.

Glad to hear the good news on the MRI.  I talked to her about 1/2 - 2 weeks ago one evening and as always she sounded good and was perky.

What a trooper.  Hope she gets some sleep, but as most of us know chemo does that to you.  You are so tired, but can't sleep.  At least that was how it was for me.  Maybe that is the Taxotere, cause that is what I had.
