(No Subject)

Hi. So glad I found this site! Ive already had 2 lumpectomy's on my right breast. One in 2002 & one last July (I'm 34!) I went in for my 6 month follow up, alil late! Anyway, they found microcalcifications on my right breast during mammo. Met with Dr who performed 2 needle biopsues. He's not really saying much, but results came back pretty much inconclusive. So I am now scheduled for surgery next Thursday. I broke down last nite & told my husband u am tired of being poked prodded & sliced & if i could have my way, I'd go ahead & have my boobs removed! I already gave my right one a nickname, ' frankenboob'. I don't think they will find anything and just tell me to come back in 6 months, its almost like why keep goin thru this emotional rollercoaster? Wondering if anyone else has been thru this. The other reports that I've read said Bi-rad 4.

I'm so sorry that you're going through all of this!!

I had malignant microcals and had a bilateral mastectomy last Oct. I had them take both partly because of what you're going through. I just didnt' want to worry about it for the rest of my life.

I pray that everything will be fine for you. Of course it will be 'fine', but I hope that your microcals are benign. YOU are obviously a strong woman and will make it through whatever lies ahead.

Thank you both! Im sure everything will be ok & I am glad that they're being proactive, its just I'm barely an A as it is so what they've done so far has had its effect.
Btw, have either of you had blood from your nipple after biopsies? It's dark now but its been 2 weeks now....I'm goin in tomorrow but figured I'd ask :)

I am 63 years old now but from my mid twenties I had nothing but lumps, lumps, and more lumps, more surgical biopsies and more aspirations until I could not take it any more.  I finally found a surgeon who agreed that it would be best to get rid of them entirely and that is what I did with insurance approval.  I had bilateral subcutaneous mastectomies and saline implants 15 years ago and still consider it the best decision.  I have had no problems since then and have not seen an OR since.  That was after approximatley 8 surgical biopsies on each breast and many aspirations.  The worry it caused was just not worth keeping them.  Take care and it sounds like something you really should consider and I will bit your doctor would help you and if not find another doctor.  My first surgeon said "you would not feel feminine without your breasts."  Boy, was he ever wrong.  I feel much more feminine now that I am not facing surgery every year and worrying.
