HI Ladies,

Went into Boston on Thursday the 12th for the latest on my BC, I will be having surgery on Wednesday the 18th, first they will do a SN biopsy, while they wait for the results of that my new surgeon, (love her) will clean the rest of the cancer out and get better margins, if the path results come back positive the will do a aux dis. 

Either way if I have positive nodes or not, I was told chemo and rads.  I will be on herceptin do to the her2/neu+

I'm fine with all this so far.

Right now my husband and I are leaving to do the 6 mile walk for cancer in my home town.

Have a good walk, Randi. Six miles is quite a hike. Not one I would do with my sore plantar faceitis affected feet (which are getting better with PT and exercises, BTW). Anyway, I am sure Joyce will be fueling the PCE for the trip on Wednesday. We will be there, pink boas at the ready. Best wishes for an easy time and an uneventful recovery. Hugs, Lauri

Randi! I am so glad that you like your new surgeon. Sounds as though you are on the right. Be sure and look for all of the pink feathers in the holding area and the or. (You might want to warn your surgeon..lol)

Enjoy these next few days. Do things that will keep you busy and laughing.

OK I have been waiting for a reason for a trip to fly over Boston. I'll be on board. Will send some prayers that the surgery is minimal and all looks good. Hugs MK

Ah, good old beantown.  I'd drive, but I hate those concentric circles they call roadways!!!  I'll tag along on the PCE.  I'll be there for ya.  Let's pray for no node involvement.  If there is, though, you sound strong about it.  I admire you for that!

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the resposes.  OK my husband and I did the 6 miles.  Hello that is a long hike, but we did it and I'm very happy we did.  Ok T-2 and counting till the next surgery.  The doc thinks the cancer might have been there as long as two years, so I'm expecting that there is node involvement.  but if not great.  I'm ready for the battle.  Bring it on.  Cancer can not break through the PCE.

I too was expecting node involvement and I think my surgeon was too. I was 30 at diagnosis and that tends to carry higher risk of an aggressive cancer. I think it was also a way for me to cope, to expect the worst...so that anything else would be like a celebration. Well they did the SNB procedure on me and actually got 15 little nodes, and all were clear. Since your path report mirrored mine, I am going to keep my fingers crossed that the trend continues.

In my case though, I had to wait for node results and would have had to do another surgery. Luckily it did not come to that.

PCE will be there on Wed, you can count on it!

Hi Lori,

Thanks, I hope no involvement either, but you deal with what your delt (sp).  I have to have chemo regardless of node involvement or not, but if no involvement, I only have to have 4 chemo treatments.  I just pray the surgery goes well. 

I am so thankful all you ladies and the PCE will be there,  I hope the weather is nice in Boston for the flight.

You're on the right track for sure. The most important thing is the right surgeon. You sound very inspiring. I think I should go out for a walk.
