Quite a while back I found a lump in my right breast.  At the time it was quite small and painless.  Since then, it has grown in size to what feels like almost golfball size.  It is painful at times but only when I mess with it.  I can move it around in a small area, but can tell its connected too my tissue.  I went in and the doctor tried taking it out with needle hoping it was just a fluid filled cyst.  That was extremely painful because he didnt numb it.  As soon as the needle went into the lump, I almost jumped off the table and wanted to scream.  He said right away that it's not a cyst, its too solid and needs to come out immediately.  Next wednesday, the 24th, I am getting put to sleep and he's going to remove the lump and then do a biopsy on it to find out if its cancer or not.  Any advice or tips?  Anyone think this sounds like cancer?  I am only 27.

oh and its the size of a fifty cent piece and about inch thick.  really nervous about it.  any ideas?  surgery in 4 days.

tomorrow is the surgery, getting really scared about it and the results.  could use someone's thinking on this.  They are using twilight sedation but say i will still be asleep.  Has anyone ever used this kind of sedation?  scared that this could be cancer. confused

It is common to have what they call adenomas. These are benign (not cancer). However they can be hard and they can grow. It is a good thing that you are getting it removed. I am surprised that your doctor didnt do an uls to se if it was cystic before trying to perform an fna. You shouldnt have had to go throught that.

Never heard of the sedation, but they know what they do. They do it all the time. This will begin and it will end. You will heal and you will live life anew.

thanks for the reply.  the positive talk means alot.  surgery is today.  super scared and nervous.  didnt sleep hardly at all last night.  cant help but be scared.  cancer has been attacking everyone i love lately, family and friends.  i will let everyone know how it went and again when i get the results.  im going to hate waiting to find out. i wish there was a way i could find out today.  and the other bad part is how starving and thirsty i am.  thankfully the surgery is only a couple hours away.  thanks again for the encouragement.
