clutter: what cell phone co. do you use?

I am finally FREE of this dreaded Nextell phone that my husband gave me a year ago...I HATED this thing... calls dropped, hard to hear, even the stupid nextell beep-beep walk-talkie conversations were annoying... we'd talk over each other, the thing would BEEEEEP and cancel us out....etc.    I swear I want to stop into the nearest NExtell store, put this phone on the counter, SMASH IT TO PIECES with a sledgehammer, smile, and walk out.   oooooohhh that is my fantasy for this phone!!!

The phone I had before this one was Verizon, which I was happy with... but want to shop around before i commit to another one for a year... anyone have any comments/advice either positive or negative???

I'm very fortunate to have a lifestyle that is conducive to a tracfone.  I'm thrilled with paying as I go, only fifty bucks a few times a year, and getting enough minutes.  It works ANYWHERE, too.

I have Sprint and have been very happy. Especially since my free calls start at 7 pm and I have unlimited Sprint-to-Sprint calls. I talk to my Dad several times a week when I walk the dog and it has been great for our relationship. Leigh switched too so we could talk for free when we wanted. THey also have a program where after 18 months you can get a credit for an upgrade,....which I am due for.

Sometimes it is the phone and not the carrier...my Dad can not use his Sprint phone in my house, but outside it is fine, and mine is fine too.

I have sprint also and so far am pleased with the service. But here is my question....Why can't they make the reception so that you can talk inside your house? I live in an older 3 story home where you can't hammer a nail in the wall, esp if it is an outside wall, because they are to thick. You wouldn't believe all of the nails, including concrete nails, and hammers that I have ruined before I figured out that I needed a drill. These cell phones can do everything but cook a meal for you yet you have to go outside to have a conversation or hope that you don't go into a valley while talking. That commercial..."Can you hear me now?" is more truth than fiction. lol

Hi Steph. I have Verizon as my carrier. This is the best one to use in my area. We do not have too many cell towers. I had T-Mobile before and could hardly use the phone. Most times I can even use it inside my house. Good luck choosing.

Stef, my dear Stef, hasn't anyone ever told you that your first instinct is the one that you should follow? Take the battery out of that phone and pound the phone to pieces. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised when all the rage is gone and so is the villan.

When I was still making porcelain dolls, I would pile the rejects on a storage shelf. Whenever I was so angry I could scream, I would take out the rejects and hurl them to the bottom of the trash can. By the time I had hurled them all, not only did I feel much better, but whoever had p!ssed me off knew enough to stay away from me.

I use Cingular for my cell phone service. I, too, have some problems trying to use it in the house. I think most of the problem is that I'm on the computer when I try to use it.

Let me know how you feel after the cell phone assault. LOL

Hi Stef, I use Verizon. It's the only one that works well in my little canyon, although my son swears by Sprint. He's had his Sprint for ages. I just renewed my contract in December and got a phone that does everything but the dishes, and I'm extremely happy with both it and the service. I hope you get what you want this time.

Stef, I have Sprint and the reception I am very happy with. I can use it in my house usually also. My only complaint is I wanted to go to a cheaper plan, and they say I have to sign another 2 yr contract to change. That really annoys me since I only have till Nov for my old contract to be up. So, I may change after that, but maybe not.=)

We got a special deal with AT&T through DH's work. They merged with Cingular within the last year. I can use this phone in my house which is on a lake. Somehow being near water destroys radio waves, so I am happy with this set up. My old Sprint phone would not work unless I drove a mile down the road and got on the highest point around. My daughter got me a desk top stand where I can plug in my cell phone, charging it as it goes and it has a receiver just like a normal phone to talk through. Pretty nifty set up. Hugs MK
