Boy sometimes I could just go through the TV screaming.................  A lead in to the next segment of the news just announced, "Sometimes a cure for breast cancer is as easy as going for a walk!".  I know the newpaper was touting exercise as preventing breast cancer recurrance this morning, too.  What do they think we are, blooming idiots???? All the women we have lost could have lived longer if they had just exercised, sure.  GRRRRRR Oh yes now I am hearing there is no proof hair dye causes breast cancer.  Two segments in a row passing out non information about breast cancer.  Next story is about prostate cancer and married men do better than single men in survival. Yeah! MK

MK: I saw that this morning also and was just as angry as you sound. Give me a break. They must think that women are stupid and don't know that exercise is good for everyone. I just wonder how many millions and millions of dollars it cost to do this study and come up with this new and exciting news??? :gag: Hmmmm, so men that are married and have prostate cancer do better than single men. Am I suppose to care? I am tired of monies and time being wasted on these stupid, insiginificent studies. Get to the real thing. Find a cure!

Hooray for you MK!! I must have watched the same news you did because I started talking to the TV about what idiots the people who prepare the news for the "talking heads" are. Of course, the "talking heads" are equally stupid for reading all of this specious stuff. During MY rant, Dr.Amy's BC Wall of Courage popped into my head and I thought if only, Julie, Peggy, Pat, Melanie, Leah, Becky, etc. had gotten out those cross-trainers they'd still be here with us. Pleeez, give me a break. FYI, before I was dx'd I walked every day 1-11/2 miles. That didn't seem to protect me from being dx'd with BC. Maybe all of these researchers should interview those of us who are out here battling this wretched disease every day of our lives about what we think will bring a cure. Maybe we would tell them to put their money where their mouths are and spend, spend, spend on more research or maybe some of us might be really honest and tell them what our true thoughts are about their silly hypotheses. Seems to me that this is just another way to tell us that it is OUR fault that we were diagnosed with breast cancer. Just my 2 cents, again. Hugs all, Lauri

I saw that too, and I really took offense. And I agree with you, Lauri. I felt like they were saying, "if you fat women would get off your fannies, you wouldn't have these problems. Serves you right!" I turned it off and stomped around the house venting steam like a volcano. LOL Next they'll be telling us it's our fault because we had the nerve to grow breasts in the first place! LOL

Just had to sound off on this one!

Hi Everyone,
Just had to had my 2 cents to this conversation. If anyone out there should NOT have gotten BC based on her exercise program, it is ME! Nearly every day of my adult life I have exercised, from six miles a day on the treadmill, 5:00am walks for 15 years with my neighbor, and weigh lifting three days a week. Vitamins, no caffeine, no alcohol, skinny little thing, bla, bla, bla...and where did it get me?? Well, yes, I know it has made me a stronger person and better able to fight this cancer, but it DID NOT keep me from getting it. WHERE DO these people come up with these ideas??? I am with you...spend money on a cure, and quite trying to make us feel worse than we already do.
