Hi, Today I got diagnosed stage IV breast cancer. I was diagnosed with cancer on Feb. 4. I had a CT Scan and a bone scan. The bone scan was fine, the CT scan showed three small spots on the liver. My doctor said it was nothing to worry about
, but we will get a PET Scan anyway.
I have everything lined up for surgery for the port on Monday and Chemo on Tuesday. Besides the lump in my breast I feel great. No aches, no pains, no lumps anywhere else. So, today when I called to just check about the PET scan, I was caught off gaurd by the Stage IV diagnosis. The three spots on the liver are cancer and there is a spot on my collar bone and in the area of the small of my back.
I am terrified. I have a three year old daughter, I have to be here for her. I feel like this shouldn't be true, I am only 37 and I feel fine.
I would just like to hear some promising stories from others living with Stage IV. I have watched my mother, my grandmother, and my grandfather die from cancer (None being breast cancer). My father is in his second round of Chemo. They were all fighters and lived much longer than the diagnosis. I know I am a fighter and I am ready to give it my all. I would just like to hear some positive things please.
The statistics on the cancer sights are very depressing.
Thank you.
