We'll be here until this evening - we both have drs. appts today and then it's on to NJ for the big event.
We went to Graceland in Memphis. That was a real treat. When we got there I was so glad we'd pre-ordered our tix. We went directly to the "will call" window and there were our tix. Otherwise we would have to have done the Disney World shuffle. There's an abundance of fake fur and shag carpeting but the house itself is very beautiful. There are horses wearing special protective sunglasses out in the paddocks and the meditation garden where Elvis, his mom, dad and grandma are buried is very peaceful.
After the tour we went on Nashville which I loved, loved, loved. I finally understand what that song "Honky Tonk" woman is all about. What a great fun city. We did a Grey Line tour and guess what, gals, no one asked us to get off the bus, LOL! I saw Ryman Auditorium and after listening to its history I can see why it's called the "Mother Church of Gospel Music. The whole city was just wonderful. The Opryland Hotel was right across from our hotel. That is whole day's tour in itself.
After that we decided to head on north up Route 81 and here we are. We're having dinner this evening with DS and almost DIL. I'm looking forward to that. I guess guests will start arriving on Friday for the wedding. Sat. - Cathi, Libby and I are having lunch together. That will be a highlight of this memorable weekend. Can't wait to see them both.
More later, Luci
