I can't believe I found you iVillage girls!!!

I just read recent roll call and it certainly made my heart smile. I am Marge from Nebraska. I think of you women so often. I still have a picture from St. Louis on my desk.

I was at iVillage to check up on Chris H. As some of you probably know, she is not doing well. I am having my 5 year post last radiation treatment next week. I am doing well. Fibromyalgia tries its best to get me down. But, since I found a warm water (94degrees) pool it doesn't win too often. MK, are you still doing the water thing. This has totally changed my life. I am so much stronger.

My husband retired quite early a year ago January. All 3 of our daughters live in Lincoln and 2 were pregnant, so it was a no brainer to move here. Being Granny is the greatest thing in the world. We spend a lot of time with them.

How is Connie, Joannie?? There are so many I want to ask about, but am scared to mention names. Also, why the breakaway from iVillage?

Hi Marge! It is great you found your way here. We tried to pass the word around but not everyone got it I guess. We often talk about St Louis, sadly we have lost many of our friends from that time. I would be happy to email you but don't have your address. You can find mine by clicking on my name and if you email me, I will do my best to answer your questions.

We just had a new member here from Nebraska, she laughed when I suggested she tell us where she lived that someone may live near her. Now if I can remember her name? Maybe she will see this post and say something.

No I had to quit doing the water aerobics. I got another infection in the abdominal wall from a swimming pool, not the one I was going to for aerobics but I decided it was not worth taking the chance of infection. I enjoyed being in the warm water, too, but I had to drive nearly an hour each way, deal with wet binders when I got home and with the infection possibilities I just gave up.

It is good to hear from you, hope you will stick around and feel at home here. We had a good get together in Louisville, KY in May of 04. Becky Phelps was not doing well so we all wanted to go to her area and walk the survivor's lap with her, which we did. Sadly, we lost her a few months ago, too.

Hi Marge! Wow, lots of old faces this week, we are so excited! I was lori-g2000 at the village, now I post under my dog's name. Lots of us are here, some post at the village and some post at both places, feel free to post here, there and everywhere! We have missed you, I know your name has come up a few times as we wanted to know how you were doing. As the others have said, we have had a few losses over the years, more than we wish to admit, and some were recent. For our sistes, we carry their memories close to our hearts as we fight on...
I remember there were a slew of us (all those with the short hair in St Louis!) that had recently finished chemo when we first met. I too just had my 5 year anniversaries, dx was 11/30/99...and I just finished my 5 years on Tamoxifen last month. Hooray!


So glad you found us, Marge, stick around! We are here for eachother no matter what, whether we are newly diagnosed, years our or fighting mets...and we can always use another sister here!

Hi Marge,

I'm still DiVanDyke from St. Louis. The name was too good to change when I came to healingwell. We've been very happy here and I hope you will keep posting. I too have thought about you and wondered where you were. So sorry that you didn't know where to find us. Several of my Chicago friends still post on ivillage, Deb, dazzzled and Peg, Kano. I have gone there also to check on Chris and have sent several cards to her but no reply. She is still in my prayers and I hope she knows that.  It has been so heartbreaking to loose so many dear friends. I think  of them and sometimes talk to one or the other of them as I think of something they would be saying and wonder if they can hear me. Some day we will all be together again. I'm glad that you are doing well. I am unbelieveably blessed to be OK. My doctor says that I am one of her miracle patients. I know that the Lord sent me to her and has given me this time. I pray that I use it wisely. Love and hugs, Di
