new chemo for brain mets

  i have stage v breast cancer w/mets to the brain. 7 brain tumors. the doctor put me on temadar and thalidomide. has anyone outthere been on this chemo. the dr. said that this is my last hope since nothing gets to the brain. if anyone has any information that would be great.

Welcome to our group! I have no experience with your situation, although I have heard of those meds for brain mets, can't tell you anything else.

Please hang in there and we'll help with anything we can...

I have no experience with these drugs either, but I have heard of them. Again, I suggest Googling these breast cancer with these drugs in the advance search. Sometimes google can help a lot. Please post to let us know how you are and how the drugs work. I am new here, but have found this group to be very encouraging and caring.

Sorry I know nothing about these drugs, either, but I do think I heard about the use of thalidimide on the news. Please accept our support and educate us in the their use. We have had breast friends who went through the laser treatment of lesions with success in removing the lesions. Big hugs of hope for you, MK

I will be praying for you, Jen. It seems that new treatments are found all the time so maybe the doctors will find the perfect one for you. Don't give up hope! I know that others have survived brain tumors and I believe that Lance armstrong did too, didn't he?
