Conflict over reconstruction for symetry

Yes, my insurance will cover it. Yes, I've had tissue removed from both breasts. BC was only in the right one.

Resultant surgery has left breast sagging and flopping, while right breast, while it's still healing unbelievably slowly (still inflamed but onco gave me OK, all is well), the right one is on track.

Saw plastic surgeon yesterday to have left one reduced to match right one.

Spoke to Hubby and he's flat out against it. He does agree it's my body, and it's mine to do with as my conscience sees fit.

From his perspective, *I* need perspective, and be happy as-is w/o risking another surgery after all the surgeries I've been through. Especially for cosmetic reasons. The surgery WOULD involve a lollipop incision and that scares both of us.

If there's another alternative I don't know it.

He has valid points and I understand I'm lucky to have found the BC when I did, and given my long history of other problems and Sx's, I need to learn to be content with what God gave me.

Just need to talk I guess, vent, share, ask? I dunno.....

If the difference weren't so significant (to me at least, it's pretty darn obvious) I wouldn't be entertaining this idea.

I've been giving this more thought and have decided the same thing. Time out. I've been through,...this makes it 5 major surgeries since 2012.

Time for a break.

As you mentioned, I can always reconsider later.

Hubby brought it up again today when I found myself watching a TV show called "Botched." (It's 2 plastic surgeons who help people who have had bad experiences or results with previous surgeries).

He brought up pretty much what we just said: Be thankful I'm alive, and I've put my body through an awful lot, and it's not worth the risk.

Considering how things could have turned out, I'm dang lucky!
