I found this forum a few months back when my Dad was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. I then starting looking in the breast cancer section when my best friend of 25 years was diagnosed with metastasized breast cancer. We are both only 38.
Then a few weeks ago I found a lump at 12 o'clock in my right breast. I already had a order slip for a Mammo so I went in for scan. The scan came back normal. I went in to the obgyn and feeling it herself she sent me for an ultrasound.
The tech found another 8mm lump at 10o'clock. The first one is 2cm. The radiologist immediately said that I needed a biopsy.
I had the biopsy on Thursday. The radiologist said she had to be honest that she was concerned. The shape looks like a + that's founded on the edges. My biopsy site is itchy and still painful.
They are making me go to the hospital on Monday afternoon to get results. My question is do you think the radiologist already knows I have cancer and just has to wait for the biopsy to tell me? Is it possible to have this much bad luck. My poor mom 😞 I have two young kids 4 and 8. I have a bad feeling about
all of this.

Sorry your having to go through this. I personally think radiologists have a pretty good idea of what they are seeing but I'm sure they can't say positively that you have cancer.
It's normal for the biopsy site to still be painful and the itchiness means its healing.
Let me know what you find out.

It was stage II breast cancer. I've had a lumpectomy, radiation and just started tamoxifen.

You may have a benign (non cancerous) tumor.
I've had breast cancer (at 67 years old) but also craploads of little benign lumps since my 20's. I remember all the freak outs I had so wanted to respond to your concern over this.
In the area of cancer, it's great to have a second (and third) opinion. Unlike other areas of medicine, cancer is run by Big Pharma. Even the doctors aren't given all the facts and sometimes rush into things. Many lumps come & go naturally, actually. That said, if there is a thread of doctors who feel you should have a biopsy then I'd suggest doing it. All things (including biopsies) are invasive on the breast so you want to be more certain this is necessary. Try not to go the a dark place realizing most things are NOT cancerous. I had a tumor that was different than all my other lumps so had a biopsy and "lumpectomy" to remove it. They also removed 2 lymph nodes (that's all I'd allow) which were both "clear" ~ meaning the cancer hadn't spread to them (a concern with cancer). So you're WAY over the fence worrying at this point about
jumping into the cancer diagnosis. Radiologists are great at spotting things, however. Remembering that like every other profession, there are a few great ones , a lot of average ones and some real slackers. Get opinions, then check your own opinion.
