what causes them to harden?

I went to get a mammogram a month ago. so can anyone tell me why the boobs harden ?
i'm 34
there's' definitely difference in my right from my left one

Hi I am 34 too. I think some areas of your breast just tend to be more dense then others. I hope your mamo went well.
