Hi ladies! Just wanted to let you know that I will be having the 1st of at least 2 surgeries for reconstruction. This first one is to ligate the blood vessel in my abdomen so that when the actual reconstruction is done, it supplies a better blood flow to the new 'breast'. It is scheduled for 11A Pacific time. I'm not worried or nervous at all, but if the PCE could do a fly by, I would appreciate it very much. I will be on the look out for pink feathers in the OR. The reconstruction will be sometime after the 1st of the year. By the way, I'm doing a Tram Flap. Can't wait for the tummy tuck!!! LOL

Kathy: How exciting! I know that you will do great. My friends that have had reconstruction are thrilled w/ the tummy tuck and butt tuck.
Watch for those pink feathers!
Hugs and prayers...Deb

Good luck today I know that you will be very happy to have this done. I'll be there for you just look for the pink feathers. I sure wish I could get a tummy tuck I could use one!!!!! I have already decided that if the cancer comes back in my breast that I will just have a mast I dont want to go through this again.
Love and hugs to you.

Thanks ladies! The operating room was a mess after you left all the pink feathers around! LOL Things went fine. It was a little longer than the surgeon originally said, but he told me he wanted to be very careful. That's always good. The strange thing is I have a weird side effect that I HOPE goes away. My left thumb is numb. The IV was in that hand, but they don't think that has anything to do with it. They really don't know why. It's a little better today. I have two incisions in the groin area, so this is just a preview of the BIG surgery and it's discomfort. I'll let you know when I schedule that one. It will be after the 1st of the year. Thanks for being there.

Kathy: Glad to hear that your surgery went well. Yep, those pink feathers really do shed in this cold weather. lol Take it easy and don't overdo. Hope that the thumb gets better.

Happy to report that the thumb is pretty much back to normal. Leave it to me to have a weird side effect. So far - so good.

So glad that all is going well with you. I hope that this was not a painful surgery and that the next will go smooth too. Thank goodness the thumb is better. I have had numbness in my middle and ring fingers on both hands since Taxol and it drives me nuts. sorry about
all the pink feathers!
