Calcification both breasts

I went for I mammogram last week. I got a call the next day that I needed another mammogram as well as an ultra sound. The nurse said that there was calcification on both breasts and it could be cancer. I'm so nervous and worried that it is cancer. How will we pay for this? What are the chances that it is cancer?

Hi Donna & welcome to the forum. No doubt this is the phone call that scares us all. I got this same call in my early 40's. I had to go back for more testing & it turned out not cancerous. I went for twice a year for 2 years having both tests done & then went back to yearly.

I know it's hard, but try to not think the worse case scenario. If you have insurance they will pay for the additional testing just like they did the mammogram.

Hello - I had an breast ultrasound and another mamogram - microcalcifications on both left and right breast. Sterotactic biopsy recommended for both breasts.

Biopsy scheduled for 9/24.
